"Oh no, no, no this can't be happening. This isn't real, it can't be true." I said, my breathing getting quicker and deeper by the second, my brain fully comprehending what was going on.
I wasn't one to belive all that ghost stuff though I know weird things do happen. This however, was definitely going to make me think twice about my beliefs.
"Hailey, hunny I'll be leaving for the airport in an hour and would like to spend some time with you, as well as use the bathroom before I leave." my mom called through the bathroom door, snapping me back to reality.
"Alright mom." I replied, wincing in pain as I realized I pressed my back against the wall, startled from her speaking. Obviously I wasn't as mad at mom as I was dad, after all, she's the one who always stood up for me when he was being a jerk. I soon decided I should leave the bathroom and socialized before dad got worked up over something stupid.
Sure enough, when I walk out of the bathroom and make my way into the living room, he's basically 'spittin nails' but he's not mad at me. I look over at what he's staring at and my gaze lands on the television set with no reception. Shrugging it of as no biggie, I set off to my parents room to find mom.
"Hello, Mom?" I called out for her, not shocked when I received her muffled reply through the closet. I was shocked however, when I walked into their room and no one was there.
"Mom?" I asked nothing but air, uneasiness lining my voice. I quickly run downstairs to the kitchen, not finding her their either. After searching the whole house with no luck, I decide there is one thing left to do.
"Dad, have you seen mom anywhere?" he probably knows. He looked a little startled by the question, but quickly recovered. "She left for the airport." he said, unfazed. I take out my phone to check the time and it reads 10:15.
"It's only 10:15 and she said she's leaving at 11, she didn't tell me bye either." I said, suspicion filling my voice. "She left early and told me to tell you bye and she loves you." he implied. "Why is her car still here?" I demanded. "She took a cab." I still don't believe it but I leave it at that when I notice him getting agitated.
"As long as she answers a call I'm fine." I mutter under my breath while I climb the stairs. Surely dad didn't do anything, right? That doesn't stop my growing suspicion.
