"How was Phoenix?"

Beau looked up at Angela, to see that she was still reading her Government book. He knew better to think that she was asking because she was disinterested. Angela also knew better than to stare at Beau for answers when she was trying to subtly pry.

"Good," Beau replied, answering that question for the fourth time today.

Lauren, Mike, and Eric had already asked that question as soon as he'd left Bella's truck this morning. Now Angela was asking the question, but unlike all the others, she wasn't asking it to be nice. She was asking it so she could get a gage on his mental state.

"How's your mom?" Angela asked right after, closing her book now to give him her full attention.

"Same ole' same ole'," Beau replied, which was he truth. "She asked me about you though."

Perking up, Angela smiled. "What'd she ask about?"

"She wanted to know if we were dating," Beau replied, laughing slightly as Angela went into hysterics.

"What did you say?" Angela asked once she was underneath control again.

"I told her that you had a boyfriend," Beau shrugged, remembering his and Angela's long talks over the phone while she and Ben had been trying to reach "official couple status". She had called him multiple times in Phoenix for the issue, and Beau had relished in the distraction from his own thoughts to help her.

"Oh Beau," Angela said, laughing lightly and wiping a tear from her eye. "Have I told you that I love you?"

"Over a hundred times," He replied, and that too, was true.  He and Angela were practically siblings, so saying things like 'I love you'  were normal.

Beau and Mike even said it to each other one time; but that had been when Mike had called him in Phoenix to check up on him. The blonde male had said a faint 'You know I love you, right?'  and Beau had just said 'I know. I love you too.'  And that was it of it, they hadn't said it again, but they didn't have to.

It was in moments back in Phoenix where Beau was glad he had such good best friends. Renee's smile every time Beau had left the room to answer a phone call from Mike or Angela had been jubilant. She was so used to him only talking to Bella, that she was so happy that he was finally talking to someone that wasn't blood related.

"Are you excited to graduate?" Beau asked, biting his bottom lip.

Angela let out a soft sigh, "I really am actually, but I'm going to miss our friends."

Beau nodded his head, agreeing silently. Though he wasn't really close to Tyler and Eric, they still were always nothing but nice to him. He didn't talk to them outside of lunch or when they went to the football games, but every conversation with them had always been lighthearted and flowed easy.

If he and Mike hadn't latched onto each other right away, then maybe they would've been Beau's best friends as well. Lauren and Jessica weren't all that bad either, though Beau preferred Lauren over Jessica any day. Since Lauren had stopped crushing on him, she now only gave him soft smiles, warm lighthearted teasing, and fashion advice. In a way, she reminded Beau of the smallest Cullen daughter, Alice.

Thinking about Alice wasn't as hard as Beau thought it'd be. That rule stood with the rest of the Cullens; since on most days, Beau would see something he knew that either Emmett or Jasper would like. Beau even thought of Edward on some days, but then Bella would have a nightmare or forget to eat and Beau's thoughts for the guy would go sour.

The only person who was hard to think about for long periods of time was Rosalie; and though he had long ago accepted that she wasn't coming back, he still hoped she would. That's what hurt the most, the ignorant hope he had that Rosalie would come back.
