"Jacob still hasn't answered me,"
Beau looked up from his mug of coffee to his sister. Bella was roughly biting into a piece of toast, eyes set on the wall as she was lost in her own thoughts.
Pushing down the guilt, Beau nodded his head. Though he had yet to tell Bella what really happened with Jacob, he knew for sure that Bella's recent best friend was now a werewolf. Much like Sam, Jared, and Paul - the boys who had saved Beau from Victoria.
Which was something else Beau had yet to disclose to his sister. Though it wasn't from a lack of trying, given that Beau had wanted to warn Bella away from Forks so Victoria couldn't also use her as a ploy to get Beau to accept her bite. Sam had been against the idea, and had made Beau promise that he wouldn't say anything.
More out of understanding than anything, Beau had agreed. Though things had changed between the four of them, Beau still respected Sam, Jared, and Paul. They had saved his life after all. Maybe not in the most common way, but they still had saved him.
The concept of werewolves was still new to Beau, having it only been explained by Sam a few days ago. Jared and Paul had both looked down at the table the entire time, either ashamed or embarrassed at not telling Beau in the first place. Emily had also been there, and had explained the concept of Imprints.
Beau nearly had a heart attack as she explained their importance and had shared a brief look with Paul, who just shook his head as the question in Beau's mind. Until then, Beau hadn't felt a greater relief for anything since he'd passed all of his finals.
He wouldn't have known what he'd done if he were Paul's imprint. Hell, he still didn't even know what to do with these lingering feelings for Paul inside of him. Even after he'd watched Paul turn into a grey wolf right before his eyes in Billy Black's backyard; Beau still felt a charge of energy in between them every time they held a gaze for longer than three seconds.
"Maybe he's just busy," Beau replied, taking another sip of his drink.
Bella scoffed, "Billy won't even talk to me for more than a few seconds. He even has Charlie warning to me to stay away,"
"Then maybe you should," Beau suggested, and winced when it earned him a glare.
"He's my best friend," His sister snapped, placing her half eaten toast in the trashcan. "Don't tell me you'd just give up if Angela suddenly went off the grid."
Sighing, Beau understood Bella's worry. He'd be a wreck if Angela stopped returning his phone calls and texts. Which now, were mostly just questioning Beau on why he was ignoring Mike's messages to hang out soon - apparently, Mike and Angela were just as close with each other as Beau was with each of them separately.
"Listen," Beau said, gaining Bella's attention. "I'm going to Sam's today, I'll see if I can see Jacob while I'm there, alright? I'm sure he's fine. Maybe he's just sick or something."
Reluctantly, Bella nodded her head. "I guess you're right,"
"Of course I'm right," Beau said, placing his coffee mug in the sink. "I'm the oldest."
Rolling her eyes, Bella ruffled his hair before leaving the kitchen to go to her room. Beau watched her leave, before he was grabbing his phone from his pocket.
"Yeah?" Sam's voice was groggy with sleep.
"Pick me up," Beau replied, heading towards the font door. His sock covered feet being shoved into his still damp Converse.
"You know, you should really get your own car," Sam said, before rustling was heard behind him, meaning that he was getting ready himself.
"You know you really shouldn't keep secrets from people you consider your friends," Beau stated, and he heard Sam's eye roll through the phone.
