Nate – Matched
You know, sex on the beach is something to be repeated. As many times as possible, but only when it's dark and you can hide.
It also goes a long way in helping you forget that you sentenced about seven people to death. I was just glad they didn't have children.
I was running my fingers through Emily's hair as she leaned back against my chest. She and Sam had brought out all these huge pillows and plopped them around the fire pit at the Beamin's beach house. Brody and Sam were sitting on the other side, much the way Emily and I were. Sean was off on the beach with some girl he'd met earlier. Drew was sitting with us. I was still in shock Mom and Dad agreed to let him come with us. But, having to be a witness to the court and the outcome had messed him up just a bit.
Oh, hell. Who am I kidding? It messed his ass up a fuck ton. Brody finally called Odin in to fix my poor brother. Honestly, I was kind of glad to see some of that cockiness knocked out of him. Odin made sure to keep most of the Drew-ness that made him Drew, but yeah, he no longer thought that he could take on the entire world and walk away the victor. Morrigan told him he was finally ready to move forward with her training of him.
"Do we have more marshmallows?" Drew asked.
"I don't think so," Emily turned slightly in my arms to look at him. "I think we finished them off last night."
"Oh, we have chocolate though," Sam offered.
"Nah, s'mores aren't the same without marshmallows," Drew stood up. "I'm gonna go watch a movie."
"We'll probably be in soon," I looked back at him. "Hey, we're doing some parasailing tomorrow. Want to go?"
"That sounds awesome," Drew smiled at me. "Yeah, count me in."
I leaned my head back down to kiss Emily's neck. "This is like our honeymoon, you know. Want to head down to the beach?"
"No," she whispered. "Sean's down there somewhere, and I'd rather he not catch us."
"Things are starting to pile up on my desk," Sam said. "People are requesting you, and I hate having to decide what's worth your time and what isn't."
Did she really have to talk about this now? I realized that tomorrow was our last full day there at the beach, but really, this was the last thing I wanted to discuss. That could wait.
"Sounds like you need help," Emily's head turned so she could look across the fire at Sam and Brody.
"Charles has said he'd interview people or recommend them, because I'm not sure I can handle it all and go to college once classes start in the fall," Sam sighed.
"Transfer to Georgetown," Brody had been suggesting this forever. "Live with us and I can help a bit."
"You just want me in your bed every night," Sam turned around and hit him on the arm.
Damn, he really loved that girl and I know Emily I were both glad they'd found each other. "You say that like it's a bad thing. You've not complained while we've been here." He pulled her to him and kissed her.
"Maybe we should leave them alone," Emily stood up and grabbed my hand.
I let her lead me down to the beach. The very place I tried to get her to go to just a few minutes ago. I wasn't going to bring that up though.
She had a blanket stashed down under the end of the wooden walkway from the house down to the beach. She grabbed it, and I saw that wicked gleam in her eyes. Emily didn't care that Sean might be down on the beach somewhere. Neither did I.
