The Promise (CH12)

LAURENS P.O.V - GREECE, ATHENS - 2:03pm - THE NEXT DAY

Yesterday was such a hard day to get through. Ever since Luke came back and we both had a little argument, he stayed in his room the rest of the day, even today he still hasn't come out. Daniel and Ryan have gone in a few times yesterday and they said he was fine. I asked them if I could go in and apologise, for what, I dont know, but they didn't let me.

"Hey Lauren, I'm going to take your dogs on a walk, is that ok?" Courtney asked. "Can I come?" I asked in a sad tone. "Of course!" She smiled at me. We called Hunter and Nickitta and went up the staircase to the outside. 

I put on their leashes and we started to walk around the cliff sides and the bay. 

"I havent taken them on a walk in ages, everything's been kind of crazy." I laughed. "Yeah, been like this for a while now." Courtney said. "Really? For how long?" I asked. "Hm.. maybe about a year." Courtney said as she looked at me. "I wouldnt worry about it too much though, it wouldnt affect the likes of me and you." Courtney said. "What exactly is it?" I raised an eyebrow as Courtney slowed down.

"Well, its not my place to tell." Courtney thinly smiled at me. Thats like nearly the same thing that Cara said. "Okay." I sighed. 

"How long have you guys been a group?" I asked. "Well its been a few years. Its pretty crazy how we all just kind of just got pushed together and hard to work as a team. I love those guys really." Courtney smiled. I smiled back. 

"Hunter! Not too far ahead!" I called out to Hunter who had ran past a corner of a big boulder. Suddenly I started to hear him growl. Courtney and I looked at each other. I put Nickitta back on her lead. 

"Hunter..?" I asked unsure as I slowly went around the corner. 

"Hello." A man dressed in black said to me with a smile. I grabbed growling Hunter by the collar as I pulled him back from the man. Courtney caught up and she locked eyes with the man. 

"Shit,keep going." Courtney gently pushed me along. "Lauren." The man in black said. "How'd you know my name?" I asked in confusion. Courtney sighed as she looked at the man. "How can someone not know a beautiful girl like you?" The man said as he came closer. I took a step back. 

"Lets go." Courtney said quickly as she pulled me away. "Courtney." The man said. She glared at him. "Matt, leave us alone." Courtney sneered. My dogs were growling a lot now. 

"How about you leave just me and Lauren alone and take these pesty scoundrels with you." He said as he gave my dogs a disgusted face. "Certainly not!" Courtney shouted as she grabbed my arm. What the fuck is going on?

"Hey Matt." Luke said as he appeared out of no where! "Luke." Matt smiled as he extended his hand. Luke didnt take it. "You bothering these girls?" Luke raised an eyebrow as he put a hand in his pocket. Luke chewed obnoxiously loud on his gum.

"No, isnt that right girls?" Matt smiled as he took a step closer. "Dont take another step." Luke said calmly. "Girls go back to the others." Luke said, without looking at us. "Hey, I'm just playing around." Matt chuckled as he took another step. A gun trigger noise came from Luke's pocket and you could see the outline now. Matt took his steps back. 

"Alright, alright. I'm gone. See you soon." Matt said to Luke as he turned around. He went back up towards the city. 

Luke walked back over to his motorbike and glanced at me before he drove off again. I didnt know where he was going. 

"Who the fuck was that? Why was Luke even here?" I asked in such panic to Courtney. "I have no idea." Courtney shrugged as she coughed awkwardly. "We better head back." Courtney said. This was so sketchy!
