The popular show, Coast to Coast AM delt largely in the unsolved and supernatural, with pepole calling in to tell their stories to the many changing hosts. The high time of Coast to Coast was widely regarded when the creator Art Bell was the host. As with most talk shows after he left and handed the reins to George Noory, it lost traction and became less popular, partly because it was originally a late night radio show and the Internet would soon invalidate it but because it's golden days were behind it.
The notorious call would be made on September 11, 1997. Art had started the open lines portion of the show where pepole would call in and talk to him. He received a call from a man who claimed to be an ex-goverment worker whom had worker at Area 51. The man claimed that the goverment had made contact with aliens, were moving populations to dense centers so they could be wiped out, and that the aliens had infiltrated the goverment. While the call went on the man became more and more frantic. Finally, near the end of his call the radio show was suddenly knocked off air, particularly the satilite had to be recalibrated.

any episodes passed and the incedent was frogotten until another man claimed to have been the original caller and was faking the whole thing. The man was able to provide an adiquite replacation of the orginal caller. However, he could not explain the satilite going off air he passed it off as dumb luck.
One thing that makes this mystery hard is how pepole would call in genuinely be leaving a supernatural event had occurred to them and some would call to pull hoaxes or pranks. Because of this it's highly debated whether the callwas real or fake.
