The Tamam shud case

On December 1st 1948, a man washed up on Somerton beach, Australia. When the police found him he was facing the seawall and they belived he died in his sleep. He had an odd collection of items in his pockets. This included an unused second-class rail ticket from Adelaide to Henley Beach, a bus ticket from the city, a aluminium American comb, a half-empty packet of Juicy Fruit chewing gum, a cigarette packet containing seven Kensitas cigarettes, and a quarter-full box of Bryant & May matches. They also found a note saying "Tamam shud" persian for "finished".

Witnesses said that on November 30th they had seen him lying at the exact same position were the corpse would latter be. Some other pepole reported seeing other men standing over him. One popular theory is that he was a spy whom had been killed and disposed in the pacific or that he had mob/gang connectons
