On Friday, December 6th, 1991 a patrolling policeman had noticed that the I Can't Belive It's Yogurt! was on fire. He reported this to his dispatcher and waited for the firemen to show up. When they had finished putting out the fire the police found something that would make the case more sinister than a simple arson case. The police officers found four charred female bodies. Three of the bodies were stacked on each other. All the bodies lacked clothing as their clothes were used as gags in their mouth. All of the bodies seemed to have been shot in the head before the fire started. The bodies were of Sarah Harbison, Amy Ayers, Eliza Thomas and Jennifer Harbison. Their ages ranged from 13 to 17 leading the police to suspect a notorious serial killer at the time.
At first the police suspected serial killer Keith Allen McDuff.
McDuff was executed in 1998. However, he was soon ruled out anyway. They also suspected two men Micheal Scott and Robert Springsteen. However new evidence in 2008 revealed that neither of the men did it as DNA from a swab matched a third party. The investigation continued in 2009 and over 100 pepole were swabbed with no match. The case has gone cold since than and we may never know who committed this violent act.
