CHAPTER 4.

Jessie.

The next day, I went to school a bit early. I was walking on the hallway when my phone rang. It was a text from Shaira.

"Where are you? Wait me at the gate."

"I'm already here at the hallway; I'll just wait you here." I replied.

A minute after, Shaira arrived. She held my hand as we walk to our room.

"Why so early Bes?" she asked.

"I just don't want to be late like yesterday."

"You look so excited. Is this because of Ronnie Montero?" Shaira giggled.

"Shut up! Somebody can hear you."

I love my best friend but sometimes I want to kill her.

"You're over reacting; I'll take it as yes to my question." Shaira was still giggling.

I nodded and smile.

"So you are excited because of Ronnie Montero? The hottest guy in the school?"

"Tone down your voice. You're over reacting. Yes, sort of." I smirked.

"What? Why? Spill it." She said speedily.

"Easy bes, mahina ang kalaban."

We sat down first in our room and I took a deep breath before telling her the story.

"I am excited reconnecting with him. Ronnie is my childhood friend, kababata ko siya,he even taught me how to speak in kapampangan."

"Really? how could you not telling me this?" shaira frowned.

"Because you're not asking?" I laughed. I'm really bad at jokes.

Remember the frappe yesterday? I told her what happened yesterday and she can't stop herself from laughing.

"Enough Shaira, I know it's so embarrassing."

"I'm sorry; it's just that it's really funny." Shaira was still laughing.

"Kidding aside, did he recognize you?"

"Sadly no, but I'm still excited to reconnect with him. Feeling ko pag nagkausap kami ulit baka maalala niya ako."

"I wish you all the luck in the universe bes."

"Why? Is that impossible?" I asked.
"Slight. He's really a man of few words.Sobrang sungit kasi niya lalo na after his latest break up with Ja..."

She was interrupted by the arrival of our teacher. She is Mrs. Sheryl Saturday, as a first task in the morning she said that we should know each other's name first that's why we introduce ourselves to her as well as to the other students. She also added that we must elect our class officers today.

I am actively participating in voting the officers of the class. When Shaira raised her hand and out of nowhere she said,

"I nominate Jessie Manalo as our class secretary."

This bitch just sold me; I looked at her with murder in my eyes. It was only me who got nominated so technically I'm the secretary now.

"Ms.Manalo kindly come here in the blackboard and continue the voting process." I looked at Shaira and she was still giggling. That nerve.

-

Mrs. Saturday ordered me to write the newly elected officers of our section at the bulletin board during our break.

"This is your entire fault." I frowned.

"Sorry bes, it was supposed to be a joke but they took it seriously." Shaira explained.

"How can I eat my snacks? I have a task in our break. You're giving me a headache."

"I'll come with you, susubuan na lang kita." She suggested.

"Do I have a choice? gora na para matapos na 'to."

I held her hand as we walked to our bulletin board at the hallway.Habang nagsusulat ay kumakain na din ako to maximize the time.

Chalk on my right hand and bite-sized snack on my left hand.Shaira was on my side watching me while she's enjoying her snacks as well.
I'm almost done when Ronnie came up; he's really gorgeous, he looks so hot in his uniform very neat looking. Tinititigan ko siya while I'm eating my snacks when I tasted weird, pero hindi ko pinasin iyon because I was enjoying the view. When he's gone out of my sight, I continue what I'm writing but there is no more chalk on my hand.

Oh no, I just ate the chalk. I hurriedly grabbed the bottled water to Shaira and started to gurgle. I heard Shaira laughing on me.

"What happened to you?" she asked between her laughter.

"Nothing, I just forgot the chalk in my hand. I thought it was my snack." I explained.

"Lame. It is obviously because of Ronnie. Makatitig ka kase parang walang bukas." She rolled her eyes.

"Of course not!" I lied.

"Whatever you say." Shaira giggled.

Well Shaira was right. Maybe that's the impact of Ronnie to me. I'm always out of my mind when he's around. I can't feel my face when he's around. Doing foolish things unconsciously.

On the other side, I already saw him. It already made my day. I can't deny that his presence made my day brighter.

He doesn't need to say any word; his presence is more than enough for me. But I still hope that I can talk to him sooner.
