After school I invited Katy to my place, sadly, Justin couldn't come, he had football practise. We walk to the busstop and wait. Katy fishes a package of cigarettes out of her bag and slides one between her lips. "Want one?" She says and points the package to me. "No thanks, I don't smoke." I smile and watch her lit up the cigarette. I don't smoke, and I never will. I'm on a healthy diet anyways, and smoking doesn't fit in that picture. "Does Justin smoke?" The question just popped out of my mouth, like I had no control over it. She turns to me with a confused look on her face. "Only at party's, why?" She asks and chuckles. For a second or 3 I had no idea to answer her why question. "Just asking." I say and shrug my shoulders. "You've been asking a lot of questions about Justin you know. You sure you don't like him? Because I completely understand it if you do." She says and takes another drag. I look behind myself and see Taylor's pulling up to the road. He looks at me and winks, without smiling. Like it wasn't actually his meaning to do that. Or maybe it's the same with my question about Justin. Come on, Miley. Think realistic! If he doesn't love a girl like Selena then why the hell would he even "like" me.

"There's our bus." Katy says and throws her almost completely burned cigarette on the ground. She flips her hair back and smiles. She covers herself with deodorant and steps in. "Come on." She says and I follow her. She's so secure of herself. I wish I had that kind of personality. I hate being so shy and nervous all the time about the smallest things you can imagine. We take a seat in the back of the bus and sit down. "Soo what are we gonna do when we're at your place?" Katy asks and looks at me. "Well since we have some homework tomorrow I -" "No waay we're not gonna do homework on our first school day! Let's have some fun?" She says and looks at me, she's so spontaneous. "But if I don't finish my homework tomorrow our Math teacher will freak out." I complete my sentence and take a deep breath. "Oh of course he won't. Teachers aren't that precisely on homework. One time won't matter." She says and raises her eyebrows. Well, I guess one time wouldn't hurt. "Okay, but you need to convince my mom that we're gonna do homework and not other stuff." I say on a serious tone and she nods. "Perfect." She says smiling and looks out side of the window. "Anyways, why are we taking the bus if you told me you own a car?" I ask her and she presses her lips into a firm line before speaking up. "It's not exactly my car.. it's my mom's cabrio and I can borrow it sometimes. But it's at the garage right now so I had to take the bus since I'm still single." She says and I chuckle. "Yeah, being in a relationship isn't always that easy either." I sigh and turn my head away. "And definitely not when you enter a new school with hundreds of new cute sexy guys like Justin." Katy fake finishes my sentence and without noticing I immediately turned my head around when she mentioned his name. "Why did you have to mention him?" I laugh and she joins me. "Come on, we all know you have a little crush on him." She says and wiggles with her eyebrows which are by the way perfectly plucked and filled with eyebrow liner. "Okay I admit, he is smoking hot and cute but I'm staying with Liam." I defend Liam and smile at her. "Okay, okay, I get it." She says and lets a small laugh out. I'm so ashamed of my thoughts about me and Justin, kissing and other things I never do or did with Liam. It's like I can't think that way about me and Liam, it just feels so different. And when I do, it feels weird because I've known him for so long. "Do you want his number?" Katy interrupts my thoughts and I roll my eyes. "Whatever, I'll take that as a yes." She says and I fish my phone out of my pocket. It wouldn't hurt if I had his number, right? Liam probably has a lot of other girls numbers too. I create a new Contact with Justin and enter the numbers she reads out loud. At the same time I add her number and Ariana's too. "This is our stop." I say and stand up.

She follows me out of the bus. I didn't even ask my mom of she could come over but I'm sure she'll be fine with it. "I still can't believe you live in this street." She says and looks at me with her eyes wide open. "Why?" I say and she chuckles. "Because it's like one of the most expensive streets over here." She says and strikes her hands through her hair. Her eyes blaze over the street and I notice we're already in front of my house. "This is it." I say and smile while walking up the front porch steps to the door. "Wow." She exclaims and just stands there. My friends were all used to me being a bit more rich than the rest. I hope people won't abuse me for that. "And that, is Taylor's house." I say and we hear music coming closer to us. "I know that." She silently says. His black Mercedes pulls up to his garage and he parks it in front of it. "Ladies." He says and smirks. He's actually kind of cute. "Hi." I say and hear no response from Katy. I open the front door and let her in. "What's wrong?" I ask her and she just shrugs. "Nothing, I don't like him." She says and takes her shoes off, so do I. "Why's that?" I ask her and walk to the kitchen, pouring something to drink in for us. "He.. I dated him. And he is such an ass. Like seriously, the only thing he wanted was your body and if you said no one time he couldn't accept that. When I broke up with him he came back, begging me to give him one more chance but I said no and he became furious. He slapped me in my face. I ran away but he kept chasing me till I locked my door behind myself and waited till he left. I didn't tell many people about this just because I couldn't say it or I'll get haunted again. Only you, Ariana and Justin know it." She says and bites on her lips. She gave me a whole other view of him. "I loved him so much..." Katy smiles at me and blinks a few times. I guess it's still pretty fresh. "Why didn't you tell anybody else?" I ask and she grabs her glass, almost drinking it empty. "That won't make things better." She sighs and smiles. "But that was a year ago so I'm just making myself forget it." She says and we take our glasses upstairs. "Do you know you could have amazing parties in this house? You got like 6 bedrooms and a lot of other things." I shake my head and smile. "I don't give parties and I've never went to one before." I say and she turns around with a unbelievable look on her face. "No way! I NEED to take you to a party this friday, seriously." She says and sits down. "I'm not going, Katy. I've got lots of homework probably." I say and chuckle. "Besides, my mom won't let me." I say and her smile fades away. "But.. we can always sneak out.." She says and bites her bottom lip. There's no way in hell I'm gonna sneak out. My mom will literally burn me alive. "We can try.. but I think after that it'll be the last time you've ever seen me. Alive." I say and shake my head. "Why's that?" She asks me and looks confused. "Because my mom will literally kill me if she finds out." She nods. "Please Miley, I'll do anything you want me to do if you go with me. Besides, you'll make me go alone because Ariana can be such a pussy sometimes. I'm sorry to say that but.." I strike my hair back and walk into my room. "Tell me what you're able to do for me and maybe I'll consider joining you." I smirk and fall down on my bed. "I'll do all your homework for a week." She says and shows her teeth. I think it's better if I do that my own. No offense to her though. "Nah, need to come up with something better." I answer. She sighs and looks at the ceiling. "I'll make sure Justin will join us on this party. Come on Miley! When guys are drunk they'll do anything." She suggests and I smile. I can't deny I don't want him to go with us. "Okay fine. I'll come with you." I say and she laughs. "Finally, you're a tough one." I lay my head on my soft pillow. How can it be that one day at this school already gave me three new friends? I'm hoping I'll have some luck friday night.

"Honey, we're gonna visit the neighbors across of us and we want you to join us, Katy can come too." My mom yells from down the hall and I freeze. "Fuck, Katy that's where Taylor lives." I say and she holds her hands in front of her mouth. "No... Can't you convince your mom that we don't have to go?" She asks me and pulls her knees up to her chin. "Mom's never going to let us stay here, we don't have another choice." I say and stand up, looking into my mirror. We both brush our hair and run downstairs. I put my shoes on and we walk outside, following my mom and dad. I'm suddenly super nervous, I hope it won't show. And I hope he won't come to us at school tomorrow. Somehow he's attractive, but it smells like danger around him. He just got this look in his eyes that can make you shiver, and I don't know if that's only me or if others have that too. My mom rings the bell and Taylor opens the door, his eyes immediately falling on me and of course Katy. "Hey, you must be the new neighbors?" He says and smiles. His short black hair falls perfectly down. "Yes, are your parents home?" My mom asks him and he shakes his head. "Sorry, ma'am. They're at work. I think you should come back tomorrow evening. But I know these girls, they can come in and take a look." He says and looks at me. "No thanks." I say and just when I'm about to turn around my mom grabs my shoulder. "Be polite, Miley." She whispers in my ear with a harsh tone. "No way I'm not going in ma, it's Katy's ex." I say a bit louder and Katy turns her head to me. "They can be friends?" She says and forces a smile. "No, if I don't wanna go in we're not going in." I say and walk away with Katy, back to my house. This is like the first time ever I talked back to my mom. I hear my parents excusing for us and I hear my mother's heels catching up with me. "This was unbelievably rude, I cannot accept this." She says and stands in front of me. "You don't know what it's like between the two of them." I spit in my mom's face and walk to the busstop. It's almost half past 4 so Katy needs to go home anyway. "I'm sorry you had to see him again." I say to her once we sat down on the seats in the busstop. She just shrugs and looks ahead of her. "It's my parents.. they don't understand shit about teenagers." I sigh. Why are my parents always so bossy about everything. "It's okay, I'm fine Miles." Miles? No one has ever called me like that before. "There's my bus." She says and stands up, opening her arms. "Bye bye." She hugs me and steps into the bus. She sits down and breathes on the window of the bus. She writes something but it's unreadable because it's backwards spelled. But I think she wrote "Justin". His name echos in my head, like a tornado messing all my thoughts up. The bus drives away and I wave her goodbye. I don't feel like going home, not after what my parents did. I'll have to or Katy might not come Friday if I'm late for dinner .I walk up to the front door and open it with my keys. I shove my shoes off my feet and when I look up to the living room, my heart drops a beat.
