Sworn To Your Heart ( Pearl X Connie )

The gem mutants approached in groups. Each of the crystal gems handled 5 at a time. Connie slowly slashed at one, muttering under her breath.

"Right foot, left foot..."

She backed off a bit from the gem mutant, making sure to watch it's every move.

"As I'm moving backwards...."

She slashed, poofing it.

"Keep my body lowered"

She glared at it.

"Balance is the key"

Steven ran over to her, bubbling the shards as Connie wiped her forehead. She has been fighting with them for a while, huh? 'It's already been 2 years. I started fighting when I was 14 for goodness sake... that feels so long ago...'

Steven frowned at her in confusion. She laughed off his worries, looking around for the other gems.

Amethyst was finishing the last one in her group off. Garnet was bubbling the shards, and pearl....

Connie blushed slightly and averted her eyes. Whenever she watched pearl fight she usually stared... which was very awkward to explain.

"Hey, Connie, your face has gone red, are you ok" steven commented as the other gems began walking over. realising she had been caught, her cheeks inflamed even more. "I'm fine, I'm just thinking about something... how did it go, guys?"

"Fine!" Amethyst shouted, cracking her whip on the ground. Pearl leapt away from it and glared at amethyst, who shrugged and put it back in her gem.

"Back to the warp pads" garnet said calmly, leading them all back over. "I wonder how peridot and lapis are doing..." steven mumbled, but connie wasn't paying attention.

She was more invested in the fact that pearls hand was on her shoulder.

"You did well out there, connie. Well done"

From anyone else she would have bashfully thanked them.

From pearl, she couldn't speak. Her throat seemed to tighten and she only managed a nod.

Connie had it bad, and she didn't know what to do about it.
