"gem monsters, we need to go" garnet suddenly spoke up. The gems as well as steven and connie jumped on the warp pad. Noticing how close she was to pearl, connie edged away.

It had been a week since the incident, and the two barely talked anymore.

Connie had become short tempered. She often found herself banging her head on hard objects and punching walls. It hurt, but not as much as pearl's words had.

As they warped, connie wiped away a singular tear that had slipped down her face.

Slashing a mutant, connie quickly impaled a corrupted gem. The gemshards dropped to the floor and connie passed them to steven, who bubbled them.

"Well done" pearl stated.

Connie felt sick.

"I don't need your praise"

Pearl froze as Connie walked angrily past her, before suddenly grabbing Connie's hand.

"Why is your hand bleeding? On your knuckles? Have you been PUNCHING things?"

"Why do you care?" Connie snorted, wrenching her hand out of pearls grip. "Leave me alone"

Steven backed away from the both of them nervously before heading off to talk to garnet and amethyst.

Connie walked back to the warp pad and waited by it, a bored expression on her face as she gazed at her scarred fist, bleeding with scabs and exposed pink flesh.

Who cares.
