summer and i were both currently sitting down in the brew drinking coffee and talking about the latest gossip, as everybody around here usually does.

summer, well she was the complete opposite to me. she had long blonde hair and the typical ocean sea coloured eyes that everyone adored. she was slim, some would say too slim, and she was always laughing or making someone else laugh. her name really did suit her personality: bright, fun, outgoing and happy. summer was completely different to me, where she liked going out to party's i would rather stay home and work on my writing. where she'd rather going to the mall i would rather take photos, photography and writing were one of my two favourite things to do.

"so whatcha deciding on doing? party with me and some guys from the lacrosse team and their mates or staying home...again"

summer asked rolling her eyes as she did so.

"im not sure"

i say shrugging my shoulders, party's? they just don't appeal to me. why go out and get wasted? you never remember half the shit that happens anyways.

"you are soo boring aria! please come o- oh wait look at that hottie"

she said, gratefully getting distracted. i followed her direction to where she was looking to see a tall boy standing at the counter with a younger girl, assuming his sister.

"he's kinda cute"

i say, shrugging my shoulders as if it was no big deal. he was cute, very cute. he was tall, definitely taller than me, well with my height i guess that wasn't hard to beat. he had dark brown eyes that shined when the sun reflected off of them, he had brown hair where some of his cute tiny curls would flick up and he was very well built.

"you should totally talk to him!"

summer says clapping her hands with excitement.

"aria? aria montgomery? is that you?"

confused i looked up to see the kinda cute boy and the adorable girl standing in front of me.

i raise an eyebrow up at them both, confused.

"it is you! oh my god! i love your photography pieces you are soooo good at it!"

the little girl said with excitement, i laughed at her and gave her a smile as i turned to look at summer who was 'wiggling' her eyebrows at me.

"thank you! i only do it as a hobby but it's really fun. so what's your name?"

i ask the girl as the kinda cute guy stands there awkwardly, probably wishing he could go.

"aaliyah, aaliyah mendes. oh and this is my brother shawn"

she says giggling while pointing towards shawn, the guy i can now name.

"oh nice to meet you both! im aria and this is summer."

i say giving shawn a small smile and receiving one back.

"order 37. order 37 please."

some random guy behind the counter shouts out and aaliyah quickly hurries off to go and get the order.

shawn started to turn round to leave but summer stopped him, of course.

"you can sit you know"

she says giving him a playful smile, i just roll my eyes.

he awkwardly sits down and ran his fingers through his hair which let me just say was hot' wait no i mean kinda cute.

"so you enjoy photography?"

shawn asks trying to create general conversation.

"uh yeah! i love it and writing, do you have any hobbies?"

i mutter, almost loosing my words.

"i love music, i play guitar all the time and i really love songwriting, it's like my way of writing a story but just through lyrics instead"

"that's awesome, so i take it you have a good voice then huh?"

i say jokingly as we both laughed.

"shawn isn't it? why don't you be aria's plus one for a party tonight?"

summer said smirking at me, proud of herself.

"uh yeah sure! only if you wouldn't mind?"

he asks trying to be genuine but when you have a friend like summer, no isn't part of the option.

"of course she wouldn't! well i have to go and get ready so i'll text aria the details and i'll see you both later"

she says before she gets her handbag and adjusts her clothing, before she walks away she throws a wink at me which makes me laugh.

"so i guess we're going to a party"

i say laughing awkwardly.

"i guess so"

he says, shooting me a cheesy smile, as aaliyah joins us both and sits down with her drinks she ordered.

the rest of the afternoon shawn, aaliyah and i both talked about absolutely everything, from our favourite colour to where we wanted to travel too. it was actually really relaxing and fun. shawn seems like a lovely guy and he makes me laugh, a lot. im secretly kinda glad summer invited him to the party because it means i can spend some more time with him, i just can't give summer the justice of letting her know that.

getting attached to somebody is the worse thing you could possibly do because then you actually start to believe their lies.
