My eyes slightly open as I feel small and soft open mouth kisses on the back of my neck. "Alyssa, are you up?" I hear John whisper from behind me as he continues to leave kisses. "I can't sleep."

"I am now," I say as I turn around and face him, our bodies still tangled together in our cuddling position. "What's the matter? Talk to me, baby."

"I just can't sleep," he tells me. "So I've been up thinking."

"Thinking about what?" I ask.

"Us, mainly. And music and what not," He says.

"What about us?" I ask as I get this weird feeling in my stomach. Like I'm nervous for what he has to say.

"Our future, mostly." He pulls me closer and kisses the top of my head. "I've been thinking about it for a while and my feelings for you have developed so much in our time together. I love you, Alyssa, and honestly I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

I can't help my smile from growing and spreading ear to ear. "Are you proposing?" I joke.

He throws his head back as he laughs. "Not yet, I'm working on it," he smirks. I raise my eyebrows. He laughs again.

"Have you ever thought about kids?" I wonder out loud.

"Yeah, I eventually want kids. I feel like I'm not ready now," he answers. "What about you?"

"Well yeah, I'm not ready either," I say. "But I do eventually want one or two." I smile at the thought of John and I being parents.

"I want to move out of the apartment soon, too" John says. "I want a bigger apartment or a house even."

"Me too," I agree, "closet space is too small."

He gives me that are you fucking kidding me? look and I laugh. "I'm joking, I'm joking."

"No, you're not," John laughs.

"Yes, I am," I defend myself. "Kinda." I peep over his shoulder at his alarm clock which reads four am.

"What time is it?" He asks.

"Four," I tell him.

"Let's go to sleep," he says, pulling me closer to him.

I mumble an okay before nuzzling my neck into his head and falling asleep.
