Ash had called Jack to him to take Eve out of life support, telling him that that was what his sister wished for, to be free. The next day, with his mom, Cadence, and Jack, Ash told his final and last story to Eve.
Once upon a time there was a princess and prince who loved each other very much. One day however, the girl was sucked in by the darkness and it was foretold by the oracle that she would never wake up. The prince was saddened, but had support from a beautiful maiden . He spoke with the princess every day, hoping to wake her up with his stories. And while he did this, he was oblivious to the feelings of the beautiful maiden. A shame really. But as the prince slept, the princess reached out to him in his slumber and spoke of wings and freedom, her longing to fly. So because he loved his princess so much he finally did allow her to fly and he also grew to embrace the beautiful maiden beside him, both earning a place in his heart. One flew in the heavenly sky watching him from above, and the held his hand, guiding him through life.
Ash finished his story and heard Jack sobbing silently. He moved so that Jack could say a final goodbye to his sister. It was the first time Ash had seen him shed any tears since the accident and he watched as Jack embraced his sister lovingly and placed a kiss on her cheek. Ash's mom stepped forward as well and stroked the girl's cheek. "You'll always be my sweet girl." She said. Cadence stepped up next and hugged Eve carefully. "You've got a great heart Eve. May God give you your wings." She whispered.
Ash leaned down and kissed Eve one last time on the forehead. "I love you Eve." He whispered.
"Goodbye."
The doctor nodded and turned off the life support. They all listened as her heart beat dropped steadily and then stopped. The room was silent and by then, the sunlight filtered in through the window and shone down on Eve. Ash did not cry, but instead smiled at Eve, because she was finally free.
She was finally reawakened.
