Chapter 10

I made the Volleyball team!!!!!!
I am trying to get another chapter in earlier this week, but it's hard with practice being everyday :(

We are eating dinner and I look at Maggie and Beth, and think of my sister and I.

My sister that got away in time for the walkers to not get her. My younger sister she was about nine, her name was Rachel, sweet little helpless Rachel.

And then there was my other sister still younger than me but only a bit behind, she was a senior in high school. She was tough and great at sports, she was strong and could run fast. Somewhere out there she might be alive. I can only hope Marissa will make it through this messed up world.

Rachel turned and mom is dead if Marissa is still out there I hope she is alive and well.

She is the only family I have left. My mind goes out of daze when Daryl sits down next to me.

"So about the group that attacked us, I know you still won't talk about it but how did you know them?" Says Daryl.

I take a deep breath and talk.

"They have a town, a whole bunch of houses they cleared and rebuilt. There is a secure wall of the exterior blocking walkers. The group leader is a two faced, evil, selfish man that will do any horrible thing to do to help himself any kind of way. He will kill any living moving person he can find to take their supplies."

"Um, wow you were way more open to telling me, now than last night."

"Well I had time to think it over and it's better if I tell people."

"Good idea."

"But we really need you now, lots are injured from the attack still and not able to fight!" Says Daryl trying to get me to go on a run.

A dangerous one at that, going to a overrun supermarket when my arm isn't 100% yet, isn't exactly my ideal Saturday.

I was planning on going down to the pond and try and fish with Beth. Not that a "Saturday" really means a day off anymore.

"This is basically suicide, with my condition and for you too!"

"We need this! The food is more scarce than ever with the crops not doing so well. And the medicine is almost gone!"

"I won't help! If anything I will slow everyone down!"

"Valerie, your arm is 95% healed you can do it we need you!"

"Fine but don't expect me to be the same as I used to be!" I walk out of the old library from when the prison was still up and running.

I yank the door open and slam it. I hear Daryl say something under his breath but I am too tired to yell anymore, so I stomp down the hallway and go to our room I am going to get some sleep before the run.

As I am about to drift off Glenn knocks on the cell door. I sit up.

"Come in."

"Hey Valerie, so we have some new cells open that you can have to yourself instead of sharing a cell. Unless you want to sta-"

"No please show me where the other cells are."

"Um ok."

I grab my stuff and put it into my bag and write on a napkin since I have no paper,

There is a new cell opening for me to stay in, so I will be leaving see you on the run.

I leave it on his pillow and walk out, the cell is on the other side of the cell block. I set my stuff down on the bed.

"Thanks Glenn."

"Yep. You can pick up blankets and a pillow from laundry room, go to the shower hall and there is a door on the left open that and you will see Sasha, probably. And just ask her for the stuff."

"Okay."

I plop down on the striped down mattress and use my jacket as a blanket. I wake up to yelling.

"What the hell is this?!"

Daryl says holding up the napkin that I wrote on.

"I moved to a different cell, now leave I will see you in the run!"

He opens his mouth but doesn't say anything and stomps out.

"Ugh!"

I yell as I lay back on the bed facing the wall. I hear Daryl walk into the room,
"I said leave! Leave me the hell alone!"

"Um ok? Sorry... Time for the run." Says Glenn.

"Glenn, sorry I thought you were someone else."

He shrugs and starts to walk out,

"You leave in 5."

"K."

I get up. So much for sleep. I put my jacket on and grab my katana and put my gun in my belt and my knifes in there too.
