Ace Hernandez: The Christmas Heart breaker [SHORT STORY]

Number Two

I walked towards her and offered her my hand. "Need any help?"

She bursted out crying then hugged me tightly. "Hey, uhm.. Calm down." What is this girl tryingto do? Is she trying to kill me or what? Sht. I can't breath. Crap. Girls can't really handle break-ups.

"S-sorry... Kasi..." 

"Yeah, I know. Iniwan ka ng boy friend mo. What a jerk." I started patting her hair and back just to comfort her even if I really don't want to. I need money, you know. Kaya kahit na ayaw ko 'tong ginagawa ko, kailangan. "Ihahatid na lang kita sa inyo. Tara."

Finally, bumitaw din sa yakap. Psh. "No. Ayoko pang umuwi. Can you take me somewhere else?"

Ngayun lang ako nakaranas na kakabreak lang, ganun ang sasabihin. Most of my customers say 'no, it's okay.' or 'you don't have to. I can manage' but, this girl... IS DIFFERENT.

"Somewhere else? WHat do you mean...?" I suddenly gave her an awkward look.

"H-hindi! Hindi ganun! Ang hirap kasi. Sa bahay laging nagaaway si mama at papa. Wala ng pahinga 'yung utak ko. Masyado ng... masakit."

Bakit ba napaka-cry baby ng mga babae? Psh. It pisses me off.

"Where will I take you then?"

"Pwedeng... sa inyo muna 'ko?"

Well what the hell, right? Alangan namang tanggihan ko 'tong babae na 'to. Bakit kasi sa'min pa. Tss. "Sige, sige. Tara. My car is in the parking lot." She nodded and followed me.

Girls these days... Hindi mo na malaman kung ano. Tsh. I can't even believe na papatok 'tong trabaho ko sakanila eh. I mean, ang bilis din naman nila magtiwala. What if I was't the guy they bumped into? Fate would've been cruel to them. Baka nasaktan na sila or na-rape or what. Psh.

When we reached the parking lot, I opened the passenger's seat for her beside the driver's seat but she rejected and said,"Hindi na. Sa likod na lang ako." Hay umarte pa.

"Don't make me look like a driver." I smiled at her to compromise.

"Sigurado ka? Diyan ako? Sa tabi mo?"

"Mukha ba 'kong nangangagat?" My voice range sort of changed. Ang kulit niya kasi eh.

"S-sige..."Her tears fell again and sat on the seat.

I closed the door and sat down, getting ready to drive. But of course, I'll have to ask her again. "Sigurado ka ba? Sa'min?" I just think it's awkward. Baka magising pa si Tricia bigla at sabihin na nagu-uwi ako nag babae sa condo. And I don't think it's good.

"Uhm. Yeah. Pwede? I have nowhere to run."

"Friends?"

She looked down, sobbed, and sadly said, "No one..."

"Eto 'yung... room niyo?"

"Yup." Well, wala akong magagawa. Mahirap bumii ng bahay at lupa. Masyadong matagal. It's better if we live in a condo. Much better, much easier.

"Mukhang maganda ah." She opened the door before I did.

Wow. So this is your unit huh? Awesome. Psh.

"Alagang alaga 'to. Masipag kasi kami maglinis."

"KAMI?"

"Yup. I have a sister. Step sister, though."

"Ahhhhhh." She sat down on the living room.

Napaka at home niya. Nasaktan pa siya ng lagay na 'yan ah? Kahit pa na babae siya, she's getting on my nerves.

"I'll get you water. Wait." Baka kasi maunahan mo pa 'ko eh. Psh.

After getting a glass of water, I offered it to her and she sipped a bit.

Kailangan niya munang mag-kwento sa'kin. Kailangan makuha ko muna 'yung loob niya before I use my convincing powers. It won't be that hard. I'm pretty good at convincing girls.

"So what happened?" I stared at her.

"'Yung boy friend ko... Mahal na mahal ko 'yun. 5 years na kami. And for five years, niloloko niya lang pala 'ko.." She started sobbing again.

"Ano ba ginawa niya?"

"He was playing with other girls. Akala ko pa naman, totoo lahat ng sinasabi niya. I believed in his promises and forever pero, hindi pala totoo 'yun.. Hindi.."

Why would you even believe such things? Tss. Sabi nga nila, 'ka-corny-han.' It's as if you were watching a fairy tale. Movies. Stupidity at its finest.

"He's your first boy friend?"

"Second..." Sobbing... Sobbing...

"'Yung unang boy friend ko bad boy talaga 'yun. Hindi ko ngaalam kung ba't ako na in love dun eh. Basta biglang... ganun na lang. Pero eto, binigay ko laht sakanya. Pati... sarili ko..."

What the...?! "Yourself? You gave YOURSELF to him?"

She started crying and crying again.

Fck. When will this girl calm herself down?!

Without even giving a second thought, I hugged her. I'm trying to do my mission here. Hindi ko siya chinachansing-an if that's why you think.

"Calm down, calm down. How old are you, by the way?" While hugging her, I started touching her hair like I was patting her like a... Uh? Baby? Yeah.

"19..."

Too young to be even kissed.

"And your name is?"

"April..."

Her name is nice. Sounds soft and sweet.

"Bakit niya ba 'ko sinaktan ng ganito?" She pushed me in the couch making her lie on top of me.

Crap. This is really weird. This is one heck of a customer.

She suddenly cried in my chest and I really can't breath."Minahal ko naman siya ng sobra... Sobra sobra... Bakit kailangan ganito 'yung iganti niya..."

"Hey, you know what. It's better if —" Trying to stand up but she's damn heavy even though her body looks fit.

"Bakit kailangan niya 'kong iwan..."

My shirt is full of water now. Argh! "Hey I think we need to —"

"APRIL?!! KUYA?!!"

April suddenly stood up, with both her eyes open like an owl, "TRICIA?!"

"TRICIA ANO NAMANG IGNAGAWA MO DITO?! ANONG ORAS NA NG GABI!! (*&^!~@#$; NAMAN OH!! 'WAG NIYO NAMAN SABIHIN SA'KING...?!! K&*^%$#@)=& NAMAN EH!! ISA KA PA KUYA EH!! NGAYON KA LANG NAGUWI NG BABAE DITO!! ALAM MO BA KUNG ANONG PWEDENG ISIPIN NG MGA *&^%$#@!?><(* TAO DITO?!! *&^%$":{}@! )^^%$&$#@;</="

And my sister became a cuss machine.

This will be one great night.
