Maya's POV
That Monday, when I arrived at Riley's house to pick her up from school, I met Josh in the hallway. He stopped and stared and this time I was the one smirking. I had to admit, I looked pretty fantastic. Shawn had taken me shopping again, and I was wearing a red camisole with a black vest and skinny jeans with matching converse high tops.

How did she make street kid look so sexy?
Maya's POV
I waved my hand in front of his face to snap him back to reality. He blinked several times, dazed.
"I, uh, sorry Hart, I gotta go," he stammered. He continued down the hallway in the opposite direction.

Later that morning, at school
"Alright class, today we're starting a new creative unit of education," said Mr. Matthews in his teacher voice.
"Yay!" exclaimed Farkle. "More knowledge that'll be beneath my...." Smackle shot him a look. "....our intellect," he finished smiling at Smackle.
I stared longingly at the pair. Sure they were different then most couples, but I wished that Josh and I could look at each other that way.
"So our new unit will be about the history of....drumroll please...." Mr. Matthews exclaimed. Teacher Aid Josh drummed the desk. "CINEMA!!!" Mr. Matthews shouted excitedly. The class exchanged looks of interest.
"I don't get it," said Riley. Mr. Matthews's face fell. "Riley how can you not get it, we haven't started doing anything yet?" he asked. I grinned. Leave it to Riley to express confusion before confusion begins. "History class is supposed to be about the lives of me, Maya, Farkle, and Lucas," "Hey!" said Smackle and Zay in unison. "And Smackle and Zay," They nodded with satisfaction. "What does cinema have to do with our lives?" she asked. Mr. Matthews went right on talking. "Before a movie is released to the theaters, previews and trailers are put on the internet. Why?" He looked around the room. "Mr. Friar?" he called. Lucas answered. "It's so people know what's coming. It's a sneak peek into what's to come later," Mr. Matthews nodded. "Very good Lucas." He continued on. "Without previews and trailers, we wouldn't know if we liked the movie, we'd have no clue what we were getting," Josh stood up from the desk chair. I looked over. What was happening now? "Do you have something to add Little Brother?" Mr. Matthews asked. Josh shifted in his stance. He was clearly anxious about something. "I'm afraid not, Corey, but there's something I need to do, so if you'll excuse me." He headed for the door. "I hope this mysterious errand has to do with our lesson," Mr. Matthews teased. Josh paused at the door. "Trust me, it does."
