He walked over to Rhoan and knelt beside him. "I don't know who you are, but some veeery powerful people want you dead." He flipped the blade in the air and then caught it by the handle. He ran the blade down the side of Rhoan's face, dark red blood following close behind. "I'm just more than willing to oblige then." He said, raising the blade in the air. The blade began its descent, its point aimed at Rhoan's face, when it stopped mid-air."Well, aren't you kind? Too bad you won't be alive long enough to do that." Natasha's voice came from seemingly nowhere. They both looked around, confusion flooding their minds. Natasha suddenly appeared from out of thin air behind the assailant, a knife slicing through air, rushing towards his neck. The assailant narrowly dodged the blade, ducking just in time and then rushing to safety.
"What the ---?" The assailant said, although he did not get to finish his question because before he realised it, he was entwined in what seemed to wires. He was now suspended in mid-air as Natasha closed her fist.
The wires were apparently wrapped around his neck as he struggled to utter another word, which, again, did not make it out of mouth.
"Y...You." He was cut off as Natasha yanked her hand to her waist. His head fell to the ground while his body remained suspended in the air, before it fell to ground, limp and lifeless.
**********************************
Natasha walked over to Rhoan and stretch out a hand, helping him onto his feet as she slung his arm around her as support.
"What the hell just happened?" Rhoan asked. He was now hopping along with Natasha as she began to move as soon as she helped him up.
"I'll explain everything when we're safe. But right now we need to move, fast."
They made their way onto the street where the hustle and bustle of citizens filled the air and then crossed the street, heading into yet another dark, lonely alley. "Why aren't we avoiding places like these?!" He asked, concerned about going somewhere exactly like where he just got attacked."Just shut up and come along." Natasha said, kneeling down to remove the opening to the underground sewers. They climbed inside, Rhoan falling due to his injured leg. Natasha helped him up and continued to move.
"We can't stay above ground; they'll find us too easily."
"Who the hell is "they" and why are people in fucking masks trying to kill me?" He shouted.
"Assassins, sent by Regis.""Sent by who?" Rhoan exclaimed when Natasha stopped suddenly, frozen in her tracks. A man in a suit walked from out of the shadows, casually, with his hand in his pocket.
"Bravo, Natasha." The man said, his voice low. It was the guy Rhoan had seen in whatever images were flashing in his head. He white vendetta mask, the red slash over one eye. Rhoan got chills when he remembered the images associated with this man. He didn't know who he was, but he was dangerous. "I see what you're doing here, why must it be like this?" He asked.
"You won't get him, Regis." Natasha said, a slow smile creeping up on her lips.
"Who is thi-"
"When I say run, you run okay?" Natasha said, cutting him off. She was afraid of this man, but she wanted to help him. She shoved him in the opposite direction and told him to run as she charged at the man she called Regis.
*******************************Natasha pulled two short blades from her waist as she ran towards Regis. She leaped into the air when she was close to him, bringing her blades down with full force. Regis didn't even seem phased, he merely stepped to the right to dodge the blades. Natasha then vanished at the last second, melting away into her surroundings until she virtually could not be seen. She then appeared behind Regis, her blades aiming for his neck. Rhoan did not understand how Natasha did what she did, but he knew one thing, Regis was after them, and Natasha saved his life.
Regis was fast, he brought his hand up and caught Natasha's wrist, twisting it so the blade didn't come closer. He elbowed her in her ribs, Natasha bending over because of the pain. A knee greeted her face as she bent, then she was slammed into the wall with such force it knocked all the air from her lungs. Her blades fell and Regis grabbed her by the throat, pinning her where she stood. This wasn't an even fight; this was pure dominance.Regis whispered something into Natasha's ear but Rhoan was too far away to hear it. A blade seemed to materialise into Regis' hand and once again, time slowed for Rhoan as Regis lodged his blade into Natasha's stomach.
