Back To School

After everything had settled, they allowed me to go back to school. I rode with them in the limo and stuck closer to Shu than I had in the mansion. I was feeling a hell of a lot more nervous about going back than I ever had in my life and I think he sensed that. He wasn't even sleeping on the ride over, which surprised everyone in the car.
When we got there, I got out last, hoping no one would see me get out after the brothers were out...I was wrong. I could feel the eyes on me as the door shut behind me. I held my head down as I walked behind them. I quickly headed for class, sitting down and banging my head on my desk. God damn those brothers. Why couldn't they be normal for one minute and go to school normally? They wouldn't cause such an uproar every morning, that's for sure. And I wouldn't be as embarrassed as I am now.
I spent a few minutes just ranting in my head before the door slammed open and my desk was soon surrounded. There were girls everywhere and I didn't have an escape.
"What do you think you were doing, coming to school with them?" One asked.
"Do you think your special just because you came with them?" Asked another.
"How did you bribe your way into making them let you come with them?"
"I bet she blackmailed them with something!" The first girl accused.
"Blackmail? That's despicable!" Someone shouted.
Soon there were voices overlapping each other, each trying to be heard. There were now about ten different stories all making it seem like I had hurt, terrorized, or abused at least one of the brothers into letting me ride with them. I just leaned back in my seat, knowing full well they wouldn't believe me even if I told them I was living with them.
This went on until the bell rang and the teacher walked into the room. The lesson began but I still felt the glares of the girls. It was completely devastating. When lunch came around, I happily fled to the music room where I knew Shu was waiting. He promised we would have lunch together.
When I went in, I saw him waiting patiently and I smiled. "I'm surprised I didn't catch you napping." I joked as I sat beside him.
"I was...thinking about it, but then...I remembered that...you wouldn't have woken me up." He said as he reached for the lunch I was holding. I could only laugh as I started eating. It was true, afterall.
We spent lunch in a comfortable silence, Shu going back to sleep as soon as he had finished. I quickly reminded him to make sure to head to class before the bell rang before packing everything up and heading back to class. I didn't really want to, but what could you do? Girls were going to be girls. And boys, wanting to seem tough to the girls, will join in soon. It would be best to ignore it.
When I walked into the room, I had barely any time to dodge a bucket full of water. It had splashed on my shoes, but other than that, everything was good. I heard someone click they're tongue in annoyance and looked over at a cluster of girls. I just raised an eyebrow as I looked at them, trying to figure out if they were really high schoolers to be pulling a cheap prank like that.
"What? You want to fight?" Asked Yuki, the girl in the middle of the group. She was the typical spoiled rich girl with long midnight black hair and bright green eyes. Her nails were perfect and she always wore a purple hairclip to keep her hair out of her face. She looked pretty confident, though that might just be because she was surrounded by her lackies.
"Nope. I mean, I'd crush you if I were to fight you. And you wouldn't want that pretty face to be ruined, now would you?" I asked with a yawn before heading to my seat. Yuki just watched me with a glare before walking over and slamming her hands on my desk, frowning when I didn't react.
"Do you really think you could hurt me? It's every girl in the school against the puny you. You wouldn't be able to touch me without getting killed first." She said with a smirk as she crossed her arms.
"If I can dodge a bucket, I'm pretty sure I can avoid girls trying to grab me." I said with another yawn. I think I was spending too much time with Shu. "And I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one who can willingly break someone's arm." I added. Yeah, it was a lie, but they didn't know that. I just hoped it scared them away.
Yuki backed away and the other girls looked terrified. "You...are you threatening us? Because if you are, we're going to report you. Then you won't be able to come back to school again. How does repeating a year sound?" She asked, looking like she was trying to fight her fear.
"I don't really mind it, but what would you do if they knew you were bullying a defenseless girl? I could say I lied in hopes of you leaving me alone." I said with an innocent smile. "Who do you think they'll believe? You, the girl with bad grades, poor attendance record, and known for getting other girls in trouble or me, the girl who has the top score in our grade, perfect attendance besides the days I missed because of a family issue, and a perfect honor student?"
Yuki just clicked her tongue before walking out of the room. The other girls quickly followed except those who actually cared more about their grades than being in her good graces. A minute later the bell rang and the teacher walked in. Yuki and her gang didn't come back until the last period and they were all assigned detention. She tried to talk her way out of it but that only angered the teacher and he gave her more. I just found it hilarious.
As the school day ended, I stretched before my homeroom teacher called me to the teacher's office. I gathered my things, not trusting Yuki, and followed him. I just stayed quiet as I passed both Ayato and Kanato, even though they tried to stop me.
"Ms. (Y/L/N), here is the work you missed while you were away." He said once we arrived. He handed me a stack of papers and I had to bite back a groan as I took it. "I know you'll be able to handle it."
"Thank you Mr. (Random Last Name). I'm sorry I couldn't come back sooner. I was moving because my parents were worried about my health since I was alone. It took awhile before everything got settled."
"I understand. All parents are like that." He said with a light smile. "If you have any questions, you can just ask. And if you don't mind, could you tell me your new address? In case I need to send someone to check on you?"
"I'm living with the Sakamaki family. Apparently my parents are friends with theirs." I lied with a smile of my own.
"Really now? That's quite impressive. Then I'm sure you'll be in good hands." He said with an obvious look of relief. "You may go now."
"Yes sir, thank you." I said with a bow before walking out. There waiting for me was an angry looking Ayato and a bored looking Kanato. "Were you waiting for me?" I asked with surprise.
"Of course! We can't leave without you, you stupid girl." Ayato said, roughly grabbing my wrist and pulling me along after him. Kanato walked behind me, just playing with Teddy. When we reached the limo, he threw me in before climbing in himself. "Don't you ever make the great me go find you again."
"But you didn't have to find me. You followed me when I went to the teacher's office." I said as I sat next to Shu.
"What did your teacher want?" Shu asked, glancing at me.
"Just to see how I was doing...and to give me a mountain of work that I missed." I said with a groan. "Can you survive dinner without me? I won't be eating."
"Of course we can." Reiji said with a push of his glasses. "But do not think for an instant that you are to skip out on your other chores."
"...you're a real demon, you know that?" I asked with a pretty obvious expression of hate towards him. Kanato just laughed as we drove along.
