-CHAPTER THREE-
As soon as Nikki left I marched over to Jensen's house Knocking furiously until he answered and the second he did I slapped him so hard I left a red hand print on his left cheek.
"What was that for?" He asked eyes wide with shock.
"Why did you kiss me you ass? You are married." I was all but shouting. Jensen pulled e inside and closed the door.
"I know I'm sorry I shouldn't have, but I can help it."
"Yes, yes you can. Danneel is my friend, this can't happen." I told him pointing between us. "It was a mistake."
"You're right, you are absolutely right." He agreed.
"Good and I think it best we not socialize when Danneel is not here."
"Agreed and with that said I think you should go." He opened the front door and I stepped out.
"Right then, well bye." I turned and headed back home.
The second my door closed behind me I took in a deep breath and I felt the familiar sting of tears. Why did I feel like I had just had my heart ripped from my chest? I didn't even know the guy so why was I so hurt by this? I shook my head. I was being so dramatic. I wiped away the few tears that escaped and pulled myself together. I was being ridiculous after all.
That evening I couldn't sleep due to the fact I had so many things rolling around in my head. I was excited that Nikki was moving in, It would be nice to have a girl friend and since I had blown it with Danneel because I could in no way continue our friendship with her. I'd feel both guilty and jealous every time I was with her, jealous that she got to be with Jensen and guilty that Jensen and I had kissed. With a grunt of annoyance I pull the covers off myself and head into the kitchen maybe a cup of chamomile tea would help me get some rest.
The next morning I got on the phone with my lawyer to arrange the needed paperwork. So he, Nikki and myself had an appointment with him this afternoon after work. Speaking off I best get going before I was late. Grabbing my car keys I headed out the door. Just as I did Jensen was also leaving his house.
"Morning." He greeted me with an awkward glance.
"Morning." I replied and hurried behind the wheel and took off. Well that was awkward at least at work I would be busy and I'd be able to keep my mind off him.... Or so I thought.
Turns out today was the slowest day in retail history.
"Okay seriously is the town having a huge party and forget to invite us?" I asked my work mate Lacey.
"I know right."
"I mean I'm rearranging racks just to have something to do."
"Yo know what it feels like?" Lacey said looking to me with a serious look on her face.
"What?"
"Like in the movies when something major has gone down outside and everyone is fighting for their lives and we are in here blissfully unaware of the drama out there, but soon something will happen and we too will be fighting for our lives."
"Whoa Lacey dear, you need to get out more." I laughed.
"Yeah I really do." She pouted. "Oh here you take this, I'll go make us coffee." She said as a girl who was no more than 14 walked into the store.
"Hey there, is there something I can help you with today?" I asked her.
"Yes actually, see it's my big sisters birthday this weekend and I want to buy her something nice but she has such a... well I don't even know who to describe her style it's a style all of her own and so this makes her really difficult to buy for."
"Okay well-" Two more girls came in the store flashing me a smile as they passed. "When you say she has unique style give me some examples so I get an idea for you?"
"Well she uh..." I noticed she kept glancing behind me. "Maybe I should just ask her what she wants, well thanks anyway." She turned around and joined the other two girls just as they left the store. But the second they did the alarm sounded and without a second thought I ran after the girls. It didn't take me long to catch up and I pulled them both buy the scruff of the neck causing them to fall flat on their asses.
"Nice try girls, but it'll take more than that to get away from me." I said. By this point people were cheering me on for catching them as security caught up and took them off my hands. Of course I had to go to the office with them and give my statement to the police. Between them they stole a skirt, two tops and a belt. The items were kept as evidence so once I had given my statement I had to head back to the shop and write up a theft report for the boss which made me late for my appointment with the lawyer.
"Sorry, so sorry had an incident at work." I said entering the lawyers office where Nikki already sat waiting for me.
"Not a problem, now shall we get on? I have somewhere to be in ten minutes." My lawyer Mr. Lawson replied.
Everything wrapped up Nikki was officially my roommate and could move in whenever she wanted.
"This is so exciting." Nikki cheered as we exited the building.
"When do you think you'll want to move in?" I asked.
"Well today if it's not to soon? I haven't really unpacked since moving into my auntys house so all I need to do is load my car with boxes and I'll be done."
"You can move in whenever you want. It is your house after all." and with that I handed her, the second set of keys.
"Great well I'll be over after dinner. I need to wait to say goodbye to my aunt and then I'll be over. Maybe we can celebrate?"
"Great idea. I'll hit the store on my way home grab a few things, do you like Jack?"
"Does a bear shit in the wood?" We both laugh. "Right I best get back but I will see you later." Nikki headed to her car and me to mine. I had a celebration to buy for.
