-CHAPTER FOUR-

FFW Two weeks:

"Hey hun, my aunt has asked me to baby sit tonight so I will be gone all night." Nikki told me as she entered the lounge plonking herself down net to me.

"You sound so enthusiastic about that." I noted with a laugh.

"I thought moving out would mean I'd babysit less, but it seems I've done it more. I mean I think I've slept in my own bed what six times in the last two weeks." I nodded it was about that. "I mean I don't mind helping out, especially family but I kind of feel like she's taking advantage. I don't mind baby sitting when she has work but I'm doing it for her to date meanwhile I miss my own social life."

"I agree it does seem a bit unfair, she must understand you have your own life. Why don't you suggest she get a nanny or something."

"I doubt she'll go for it but I can talk to her, see what she says."

"Can only but try right?"

"Right. Well I'll see you tomorrow." She said getting to her feet.

"See ya."

Sitting playing my guitar I was interrupted by the doorbell. Strange I wasn't expecting anyone and I didn't order food. Maybe Nikki forgot her key. Placing my guitar on the sofa I head for the door. Opening it I was greeted with the friendly face of Danneel and Jensen. My stomach dropped and my heart skipped a beat both at the same time.

"Hey stranger." Danneel hugged me.

"Hey you. I didn't realize you were coming home already. Oh come on in." I stepped aside and let them both in.

In the lounge I gestured for them both to take a seat moving my guitar to let them sit. "How was your shoot?"

"Good thanks. It didn't take long it was only a small role."

"Ah right, well you'll have to remind me when your episodes were on and I will be sure to watch." I grin. I felt such a fake and I hated it. Not that my friendship was fake, I really did like Danneel but sitting here acting like I didn't make out with her husband, like he isn't always on my mind and like I don't know he feels the same. It felt so wrong, but what was my alternative? Tell her and ruin their marriage? No way!

"How are you anyway? Settling in okay? Jensen says you have a roommate? Sorry it's like twenty questions." She laughed.

"It's fine. No I am settling in fine and yeah Nikki from my work needed a place to stay and we get along great so yeah it's nice not rattling around this house alone.... Sorry my manors, can I get you both something to drink?"

"Ugh..."

"I have wine...and beer." I added looking to Jensen. I felt weird like offering alcohol would only cause this awkward situation to drag out, but now it was said I couldn't exactly take it back.

"What do you say honey can we stay for one?" Danneel asked Jensen. He looked to me then to her and put a smile on his face.

"Sure." With that I got to my feet and I poured Danneel a wine and grabbed a beer for Jensen and I."A beer girl huh?" Jensen smiled like this fact amused him in some way.

"Depends on my mood. But typically yeah beer."

"I can't stand the stuff." Danneel screwed her face up. I laughed. "So Jensen said he came around to jam." Danneel said looking between us. I had a flashback to the kiss we shared that day, the day we also decided not to socialize without Danneel.

"Yeah but we didn't get much jamming done as my roommate came round to view the house that day."

"Aw that's a shame, well maybe another day huh?"

"Of course, always up for a jam." I smiled playing along.

"Sounds like a plan." Jensen added swigging his beer.

"Oh I almost forgot one of the reasons for our visit other than to let you know I was home is we are having a bit of a get together tomorrow and we wanted to invite you and your roommate. You both get plus ones." She winks. 

"Oh that sounds fun, count me in, I can't speak for Nikki but I'm sure she will be too. I'll ask her and get back to you. Though I won't be needing a plus one."

"Aww no hunky man in your life?" I scoffed.

"I wish."

"Well I know a few handsome eligible guys that will be attending so you might get lucky huh." She laughed.

"Oh I'll keep my fingers crossed." I laughed along with her.

"Well   hope you both do come it'll be a great time. It's a pool/ bbq party so don't forget those bikinis. Come over anytime after 2." My eyes flickered to Jensen and I saw him flush and avoid eye contact with me.

"Great look forward to it." I smiled. When will this excruciating visit end?

They stayed for a further two drinks before Jensen convinced Danneel they should get home and rest up for the party tomorrow. When they left I had to take a deep breath. That was hard I don't think I could keep doing that. I decided to finish my beer before heading up to bed, I wasn't in much of a mood to play guitar anymore.

Nikki came in while I was sitting eating toast and watching adventure time on TV.

"Morning hun." She smiled and plopped down beside me.

"Morning, did you speak to your aunt?"

"I did."

"And?"

"Well she was at first a bit reluctant but when I said I would find the nanny she agreed."

"Oh so you have to find the nanny for her?"

"Yup, sucker or what?"

"Don't worry I'll help you."

"You are a life saver. I'm going to go shower back in a bit." She headed up stairs while I finished watching my cartoon.

When Nikki came back down I told her about the party invite.

"Do you think it will be worth going?"

"Uh No idea, but then again I'm not going."

"What why?" I shrugged. "Amber, I've not known you long but I know you're hiding something." Well she already knew about Jensen but I told her about the kiss before she arrived that day and how we agreed to not socialize without Danneel and I told her about the night before and how hard it was, not only because of how I feel for Jensen but because of how fake I felt.

"Look he kissed you on both occasions right?"

"Right, well the first time was kind of mutual but I didn't know who he was back then."

"Right so you have nothing to feel guilty about."

"How about the fact I've fallen for her husband."

"Look I think it'll be good for you to go, you need to face this head on and not let it get to you or your friendship with Danneel, so we will both go and I will run interference, as in I will be sure you are not alone with him right?"

"I- I don't know Nikki, It's pretty hard for me to see them together."

"Maybe so but..... truth time, he's married Amber, he made a commitment to that woman and I understand you have feelings and I know feelings cannot be controlled but you need to let it go. I'm not trying to be a bitch here, you do understand that right?"

"I know and you're right. You are so right. I need to go have fun with my friend and forget about it, it's never going to happen and the sooner I deal with that the sooner I can move on."

"Now your talking. I know it won't be easy for you, but you know it's the right thing to do."

"I do. You are my voice of reason."

"Right, do you want to go buy a new outfit for tonight?"

"Hell yeah I do." We laugh.
