-CHAPTER THIRTY SIX-

Amber's P.O.V:

I woke the next morning to a call from Carl. It seems the builders have hit something they shouldn't have and the club is flooded.

"Are you kidding me?" I said.

"I've sent the builders home for the day and called a plumber."

"Right I'll be right there." I said climbing out of bed signing off before throwing some sweat pants and a plain white tank top on. I ran a brush through my hair and tied it up in a messy bun before slipping on my cons and hurrying downstairs.

"Morning. Coffee?" Nikki said.

"Can't there has been an issue at the club it's swimming so I need to go sort the plumber out."

"Shit. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Thanks hun, but not really. I'll be back in a bit." I said grabbing my car keys and heading out the door.

At the club I opened the door and stepped into ankle high water.

"Carl?" I called.

"In the office." He replied. I head into the back office and found him on the phone. "Right okay thanks nothing." He signed off. "That was the plummer they are busy and can't come out right now."

"Are you kidding?" I asked. Carl shrugged. "Well keep calling I'm sure we can find another one who isn't busy." I said I grabbed the white pages and scrolled through. "You take those and I'll take those." I said and we got busy dialling.

It took us almost a half hour to find a company who dealt with emergencies that were available and they were on their way right now.

"It's all ruined." I said walking through the club.  "This is going to set us back months and god knows how much more money."

"If you want to bow out I'll understand." Carl said from behind me.

"What? I'm not giving up. I'm annoyed, but I'm not giving up on the club." I told him.

"But I have no more money to put into the club so you'd have to pay for all this."

"And I know this. I am okay with this. I mean It sucks I have to pay out more for this mess, but these things happen. We're a team and I'm not quitting at the first sign of trouble." I told him.

"Right. Thanks Amber." Carl smiled.

"We just need to get this water cleared away, let the place dry out and then get the builders back in to start again." I explain. "I suppose at least we have more time to plan our grand reopening."

"Silver lining." Carl smiled.

"Exactly. Man this is a lot of water."

Once the plumber arrived he wasted no time in fixing the problem, he even reinforced the burst pipe so it didn't happen again. Once he left I called and asked Nikki if she could come give us a hand removing the water and she was kind enough to do so. The three of us spent the next five hours emptying the water.

"That's about as much as we can remove." I said standing in the smallest puddle now.

"I think we should get old news paper line the floor with it to soak up the rest of the water then put heating on full to dry it all out." Carl said.
