Kelly's POV

"Lieutenant, can you hear me? Lieutenant!" A paramedic yelled lifting up my eyelids flashing a light in them.

"Dawson? Dawson." I stutter and muffle out through a mouthful of blood.

I hear a frantic beep beside me, and my eyes slowly flutter shut.

"Lieutenant! LIEUTENANT! PUSH IT! WE'RE LOSING HIM!" Another paramedic yelled.

I wake up and I'm in a bright white room on the floor. Still in my firefighter uniform. I stand up and take my firefighter hat off.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" I call turning around to try and find someone.

"I can't believe you almost got yourself killed. Again! What I'm gonna do with you, Kelly." An all to familiar voice says.

I turn around, and there she is. Leslie Shay, in all of her glory with her paramedic uniform still on.

"Shay? SHAY!" I cry dropping my firefighter hat and running full speed to her.

Shay laughs and meets me halfway. I pick her up in my arms and spin her around. I set her down and look at her in shock. Both have tears flowing down our cheeks.

"It's you. It's really you." I cry as I hug crying into her shoulder.

"It's me, bud. I'm here and I'm real." Shay says rubbing the back of my head.

"Wait. Does this mean I'm dead?" I say pulling away from her warm embrace.

Shay laughs and wipes her tears.

"No, you're still alive. You're fighting for your life back down there. But I just needed to talk to you." Shay says as she leads me to a big rock and sits down.

"You can talk to me anytime back down there. I miss you, Shay." I say as sit down next to her.

"I miss you, too. More than you'll ever know. Before I died, I never got to tell you how much you mean to me. I know that you know, but you deserve to hear it from me." Shay says as she grips my hand.

"Ok." I say nodding my head.

"You're the best friend that anyone could ever have. I'm so grateful to of had you in my life, no matter how much of an ass you could be. I wouldn't have the life I had without, you were the reason Gabby and I even got to be with each other. I know you think that you can't live without me, but you can. You've got Gabby and Firehouse 51, you'll be okay without me. I will never forget you, and you better not forget about me." Shay says while crying.

"Never." I say shaking my head.

"You gotta promise me something, Kelly." Shay says.

"Anything." I say.

"You take care of yourself, okay? I don't wanna ever see you here again until its your time alright. And take care of Gabby, please. She needs you now, take care of her. Can you do that for me?" Shay ask.

"I will, I promise." I say kissing her hand.

"I will always love you, Kelly. I will never forget the times we've had, the good and the bad." Shay promises.

"What if I forget? I don't wanna forget, Shay." I cry.

"Kelly, you won't forget. I will always be by your side, you'll never know, but I'm there. I'm always gonna be there for you, even when you're in adult diapers. I've got you, Kelly." Shay says pulling me into a hug.

"Don't let me go, Shay." I cry even harder.

"Kelly it's time to go." Shay cries.

"You'll always be there, right?" I say as pull away from the hug.

"Always." Shay says.

"Always." I say.
