I wake up the next day thinking about everything that happened between Summer and I. Honestly, I have no clue why I feel the need to stare at her, or have to be near her all the time. I face palm when I remember the conversation we had when I offered to give her a ride home.

"Does this make us friends?" Summer asks, her hazel eye twinkling.

"More like... Acquaintances."

God, what was I thinking? Summer wanted to be friends with me. Deep down inside, I knew that it could never happen anyways. It would be too dangerous, for her... and for me. I couldn't risk having her get hurt. There is something about her that draws me in, and frankly, its starting to scare me. I throw on a black hoodie and jeans before spiking my hair back and spraying some cologne. I run downstairs and see a note on the table from my mom.

Dear Cameron,

I ran out to drop Amanda off at morning care. I'll be coming home late tonight, so if you could watch your sister I'd greatly appreciate it. Things are crazy at the office right now so I'm sorry I keep throwing all of this at you. You can invite a friend over if you want... Maybe that guy Lucas or something. You can do that as long as it doesn't get too crazy, and if your sister gets to bed at a reasonable hour.

Love you Honey,

Xoxoxo Momma.

I sigh and fold up the letter, placing it back on the counter and grabbing an apple. I eat the apple as fast as I can before grabbing my bag and heading out to my motorcycle. Starting up the engine, I pop on my helmet before starting my rout to school. Maybe I could take a different route, I think to myself, turning down the familiar neighborhood I just visited last night. I drive past her house slowly, looking for any sign of her.  A car pulls up and I see Summer step out of her house. I gasp and speed away, hoping that she didn't see me.

Parking in my usual spot, I pull the key out of the ignition and shove them into my bag, hopping off my bike. I walk into the school, ignoring all the suggestive looks I'm receiving from half of the girls in the school. Opening my locker, I place my helmet inside and pull out my books. I walk into math class and sit in my usual seat. The chair next to me scrapes back and I look next to me and see Tommy Benson occupying the chair next to me.

"Uh, hey man. What's up?" I ask, turning to face him.

Tommy wears a hard look on his face. "Oh, you know what's up. I want you to stay away from Summer... You're only going to end up hurting her." Tommy growls out quietly.

I raise my eyebrow, amused. "What are you, her boyfriend?" I snort.

"No, but-"

"Then what's the issue? It's not like she's taken or anything." I interrupt him.

Tommy has a creepy smile forming on his face. "No, but she will be."

My eyebrows furrow together and I watch as he gets up and walks to the front of the classroom taking his seat next to the spot where Summer would sit. I keep my head down as the door opens and Summer walks in. A small smile forms on my face when I realize that she can even brighten this hell hole, just by stepping into the room. She looks down at me and gives me a smile that makes my heart beat a million miles a minute. However, what she does next surprises me. She sits next to me. Summer Reed actually went and sat next to me.
