Forgotten, abandoned, and abused. Each term possessing the ability to describe any person, place, or thing. Destroyed, worn, and used. Each describing any person, place, or thing just as well. The only real barrier between every object is the sense of sight. Walking up on any building, you could easily tell if that building had been destroyed, abandoned, or forgotten. You could simply form this conclusion from only taking a glance. And that, my friend, is where the sense barrier comes into play.

Taking a single glance at any person, whether it be a passerby, or a classmate who is never really noticed. Looking at them, even straight in the eye, you could never truly see and understand the emotion they specifically are handling. It becomes a necessity that you take time and push open the door to their soul, and truly grasp them. Grasp their fears, joys, and memories. Understand every inch of their being.

This you cannot do by simply taking a glance at any old building, or any passerby. You cannot understand the structure of the building, how it came to be, it's purpose. However, you may see an old sign, hanging from the hinges, possibly displaying the name. There are some instances such as this upon other people. Maybe you catch a glimpse of the pure pain and suffering when you look at "the girl in the back of the class" in the eye. In that split second, her emotions, feelings, memories, everything is the air. And it disappears just as fast as it appeared.
