Brendon and I were going to a Halloween party that one of the girls from our school was running. I didn't want to, but Brendon insisted, since they were going to play live. Obviously I changed my mind once he told me that. This is their first "gig." It's not technically a gig but they're getting payed so that's all that matters. Brendon and I were wearing matching retro vampire costumes. Like Count Dracula style.

When we got to the party I was already made deaf by the booming music. I don't like stuff to be too loud. The entire party had no alcohol since everyone was underaged, and I was thankful for that. I did not want to see some disgusting drunks.

"Hey, I'm gonna go find us some soda. Root beer?" Brendon said, practically yelling. I nodded and he kissed me on the cheek before walking over to what I assume is the kitchen. I saw a chair behind me so I sat down and waited. A guy walked over and he was wearing a police officer costume. I didn't recognize him, so maybe he's not in our grade or maybe he doesn't go to our school.

"Hey, girl." he said. "Whatcha' doin' here alone?" he grabbed my arm and pulled me up and tried to dance with me. I pushed him away.

"I have a boyfriend." I said rather angrily, and turned away. He spun me back around.

"C'mon girl, he don't need to know." he said and tried to start grinding on me. I had enough. I stepped back and punched him right in the jaw. He stumbled back and held his face, looking at me. "What the fuck?" he said.

"I said I have a boyfriend." I smiled innocently and he stared at me frightened as he walked away. Once he was out of sight I looked at my knuckles which were a little red and stung like a bitch.

"Hey." Brendon said, reappearing beside me. He handed me a can and I took a sip.

"Thanks."

"Why were you looking at your knuckles?" he asked, taking a sip of his own can. I was getting a little claustrophobic with all these people around me.

"I punched a guy." I said.

Brendon started laughing, "What'd he do?" he asked. This is why I love him. He doesn't ask why the fuck I punched a dude, but what the guy deserved it for.

I shrugged, "He tried to grind on me and when I said I had a boyfriend he pulled the stupid 'he doesn't have to know' bullshit." I said. Brendon smiled and wrapped his arm around me as we walked further into the party. It was almost eight which is when they were performing, so we headed to the backyard where they had a little stage area set up.

"Hey guys." Spence said as we walked up. They just started setting up.

"Where's all the stuff?" I asked. Jon walked over, carrying a speaker.

"In the van behind the gate." he said, nodding toward a gate at the back. Brendon and I both walked over and started carrying equipment out to hook up. We finished just before eight, and girl who is running the party, Ashley I think her name was, came up to the mic.

"Hello! Welcome everyone and happy Halloween. We have a band from Palo Verde playing today, they played at the talent show so you might know them. Here we go!" she said and handed the mic back to Brendon. He smiled at me from where I was standing on the side as more people started piling in from the house into the yard.

"Hey everyone, we're Panic! At The Disco and today we'll be playing two songs, Time To Dance and the other one is a surprise. " he said with a silly voice and he wiggled his eyebrows. I smiled as the music started and he started singing. "Well she's not bleeding on the ballroom floor just for the attention." he sang just as amazing as usual. He danced a little in between where Jon and Ryan were and would smile back at Spencer every now and then. Spencer was dressed as a werewolf, Jon was Frankenstein and Ryan was a mummy. When the song ended, Brendon bowed and stepped up to the mic stand. Many people clapped and cheered. I could see the guys smiling really widely. He placed the mic back on and grabbed a guitar from behind him. "This one is our surprise." he grinned and started to strum. I love this one, it's so silly. Ryan leaned up to the mic and started singing, which surprised a couple people I think.

"I'm tired of talking, it's almost Halloween. All my friends were wondering what they're gonna be." he sang. I liked Ryan's voice because it was different. It was more soft than Brendon's, who is very demanding. Brendon sand the chorus and danced around a little bit with Ryan. The song ended and people clapped again.

"Thank you, thank you!" Brendon said into the mic. Spencer came out from the drums and bowed with the other three. People started going back inside as we begun to clean up.

"THAT WAS GREAT!" Ashley said, running over. Her face had a huge smile.

"Thanks." Ryan said, and continued to pack up. Ashley turned to me.

"Oh, hi! What's your name?" she asked.

"Cassidy." I said. She smiled.

"Nice to meet you, are you friends with the band?" she asked. Brendon came over and threw his arm over my shoulder.

"Yeah and my girlfriend." he said and kissed me on the temple. I blushed a little.

"Awe, you're so adorable!" she squealed. "I gotta go, thanks for playing. Oh here." she handed Brendon the money.

"Thanks. Bye Ashley."

"Bye!" she said and happily skipped away.

"She's... hyper." I said, laughing. Brendon nodded.

"I feel like she drinks a gallon of coffee every morning." he said. I smiled and kissed him before we helped the other guys put all the equipment back in the van.
