“Did you want ask to see me, dad?” she asked.

“Yes, I wanted to talk to you about something.” He said.

“What?” she asked. Her mother was sitting there as well. She looked at her and smiled. She beamed back at her.

“Did you see the warriors?” he asked.

“Yes, Dad, I could see them from my room.” She said.

“Well, three of them, seem rather well qualified for our task, don’t you think? They passed both the tests.” He said.

“Yes.”  She said.

“We had made them all fight with wolves as well. We sent out wolves into the forest. They each had to encounter one. It seems those three are really brave. “ he said.

“You sent out the wolves?!!” she asked. she had no idea it was on purpose.

“Yes“, he said.

“Why do you look angry?” asked her mother.

“Um.. well, I thought it was rather cruel.” She said, calming herself down. She couldn't let them knwo her secret.

“It’s not cruel, it’s what happens in real life. They need to face it to see if they can face it in reality.” He said.

Yeah, she could have strangled the Master for making such a stupid suggestion. She could have got herself hurt. Whatever were they thinking? Reality!!!

“So, we were wondering if , after they complete the task, we could any appoint them as your guard?” asked Dad.

“Sure.” She said smiling. She wondered how they would react if she won and they saw it was her.

“Ok, well, then, are you coming with me to meet them, after lunch?” he asked.

“No I think I’d rather get some sleep. My headache has not gone yet.” She said.

They nodded and she left the room. She was rather glad that they had left her. She had no idea what to do in case they made her stay there.

She got herself something to eat and rushed towards the ground. She had put on her armor. As she reached the ground, she saw that the others had assembled. She stood beside the warriors.

“Now, we are going to the next and final challenge.” Announced the Master.

They waited eagerly.

“This challenge is to test your wisdom. And whoever passes this one will be chosen on the task.” He said.”You will each enter a labyrinth. The labyrinth contains riddles. Answer them correctly and you will be out of it. Answer them wrong, you‘ll find yourself trapped. Those brave may enter.” He said.

He motioned them to follow. They followed him towards the labyrinth. There were three entry ways. They each entered through one. Amanda looked around it. It looked like an ordinary labyrinth. She knew that if she moved in left turns, she would get out of it soon.. She kept moving in left turns. After a while she got bored. She hadn’t found any riddles. Were they really there? Or was it a joke or something? She walked forward anyway. Perhaps she had missed a turn, because she had reached nowhere. It was a dead end. She was facing a wall covered with plants.  She had no idea what to do. Beside the plants were a bench, she sat down defeated. But as she did, she heard a rustle. She looked down to see that she had her leg on a paper. She took it and read its contents. She had found a Riddle. She had to find a way to solve it. She wondered if it would be easy. It looked very easy to her, anyway.
