4: Misfortune Returns

The sound of cars honking outside the window and birds chirping were the exact sounds that Ironwood would wake up to every morning.

He groaned and rubbed his face from being SO tired from last night.

Ironwood checked his digital clock to see that it was 12:06 PM. He hated waking up late...

He got out of bed, brushed his teeth, got dressed, and walked out of his bedroom.

"They're coming today?" Qrow was talking on the phone. "At what time?"

Ironwood ignored him and went straight to the kitchen to grab his house keys.

"I found this on the counter this morning", Ozpin said to Ironwood as he held up the black binder.

Ironwood sighed in defeat realizing that Ozpin already knew what he was doing last night.

"You sometimes need to look through the past to check your mistakes, okay?" Ironwood said.

"Glynda isn't one of them, right?"

"No.... I was one of them."

"Hm", Ozpin hummed giving him a hint of agreement.

"Oh, and I split the $50,000,000 into 3 so you don't have worry about how much you spend before splitting the money 'cause I have my fair of share here", Ironwood patted his pocket with his wallet.

"Alright, Taiyang", they both overheard Qrow. "2:30 is not bad. I'll see you later. Bye." Qrow shoved his phone in his pocket and covered his face as he groaned.

"What happened?" Ironwood asked.

"That was Taiyang", he groaned more, "he's coming here with Ruby and Yang later in the afternoon."

"I'll hide the alcohol", Ozpin said as he walked in the kitchen to the alcohol cabinet.

"I'm heading out, boys!" Ironwood reminded as he walked to the door. "Be careful!" He headed out and downstairs to where his car was waiting silently for his driver.

Today Ironwood was going pick up get Glynda's late birthday present.

He got into his car and started to engine to drive away.

Ironwood pulled up to a jewelry store named Braunschweiger Jewelers.

He parked his car and walked into the store to search and scrutinize everything for the right jewelry for Glynda.

In order to make her happy, he had to buy the gift, not steal it.

Obviously, there were more women at the store buying themselves the jewels but there were some men either helping their wives pick them out or buying some as a surprise gift. Fortunately, Ironwood was one of them.

He walked around slowly as his hands were inside his pockets as he was looking into glass cases filled with shimmering colorful jewelry that was telling him, Pick me! Pick me! But he needed to choose the right one. The one that would say, Glynda.

After thinking it over, he thought of getting her a bracelet. He walked around more until he found a whole collection of diamond jewel bracelets. There was a perfectly blue diamond bracelet that Ironwood thought was incredible for Glynda! But after thinking it over, what if she doesn't like them because it reminds her of the color of his eyes? Nope.

Next to the blue bracelet was a big curved unlatched red one with pink karats running the bracelet. Would she like this one? Possibly not. It was too big to put it around your wrist and she'll probably get angry that he either spent WAY too much money or stole it. Not this one either...
