Ozpin had stayed up in the middle of the night sitting in front of the computer as he was searching on breaking news files in the year of 1979. A bunch of common crimes or accidents popped up in front of his face as he scrolled down to find the one that he needed. It had taken him awhile until Ozpin had found the big murder case out of the other sources in the whole entire website.
But this was the case of his father's death.
Scrolling through it, he had pulled out a picture that made his heart mentally burst. He had felt as if his heart was being stabbed a million times as he saw the picture of his father's bloody dead body lying on the floor with bullet holes in his chest. It was a complete nightmare all over again.
Trying to stay calm and collected, he decided to read the article that was written about the case. The article had said:
CASE #176: AUGUST 9th, 1979: A security guard named Franklin Ozpin, was found dead in his living room with multiple bullet holes in his chest. Law enforcements say it was difficult to find any clues at all and they couldn't identify who the killer was. The only thing they did discover were the bullets that were in lodged into Franklin's chest. According to their theories, there were two different types of bullets that were used to cause this murder scene. Apparently, they were used from assault rifles and submachine guns and based on the horrific mess from this strange massacre, the authorities say that this murder wasn't done alone.
"Assault rifles and submachine guns...?" Ozpin repeated as he circled those two words on the screen with the computer mouse. "How can anyone possibly have those in Atlas...?"
Scrolling down more, he had found close-up pictures of the bullets that were used. Just looking at the digital photos made Ozpin's heart pace. Not because they were sealed in bags and labeled for evidence, it was the fact that the caps were painted with the blood of his dead father.
Mentally, he felt as if his body was becoming heavy. Like a weight scale, but only one side was being added with more loads of mournful memories that kept on replaying in his head. Load after load, the ground would crack before Ozpin would even know it.
But he was pulled back to reality when he had noticed something at the flat end of the bullets. Clicking on the photo, he zoomed in and saw serial numbers on the bottom. If Ozpin can run the numbers on his system, he could find out where the guns are at and who was the killer. Well, since there were two different bullets, he knew there had to be more. More than one killer... Zooming closely at the picture, he tried to take a good look at the serial numbers at the bottom of the caps. Sadly, the numbers were too scratched up to even see in the picture.
For bloody sakes, he thought in his head. There has to be another way.
And there was.
Ozpin then exited out of the tab he was on and started to type in: nearest gun warehouses. Multiple websites popped up on his screen showing him a map of Atlas with many different gun warehouse locations. The hard part was finding out which one the killers went for their weapons.
How should I know which one they went...?
Ozpin then looked at the time from the screen and saw that it was 1:43 AM. Just by looking at it, he groaned and got up from his chair.
"I need a drink..." he mumbled.
Shuffling his feet across the carpeted floor, Ozpin ran his fingers through his silver white hair as he entered the dark hallway that was leading him to the living room. Of course, there was dim lighting since both Ironwood and Qrow both went to sleep and Ozpin didn't bother to switch the lights on. His eyes had enough light from the computer screen already.
