Replacement Ceremony Today!
There are exactly two hundred people in Dome 68. Today there will be a replacement ceremony. Eighty year old Cadence Marks will be transferred to the last zone- zone 11- designated to the the sick and the elderly. A child, who will take on the name Cadence Marks, will then graduate from the nursery and to his family. Each family has a man and a woman, a boy child and a girl child, and one pet of choice.
Upon his arrival he will meet his very excited three year old sister, Margaret Chapman; his caring mother, Delilah Delphine; his hardworking father, Truman Reynolds; and the family kinkajou, Leilei. This family applied for a son two years ago, just one year after the arrival of their first born. After being approved one year ago, Ms. Delphine lived in the nursery for nine months. Once sent home, the family waited patiently for three months for their turn in the replacement ceremony- fortunately there were many in that last three months, some families had waited up to a year for their child. Of course, the council made it to where that can no longer happen by limiting the transfer age to eighty years old.
Cadence's nurses have stated that his is a cheerful child who smiles more than any other they've ever had. He has bright blue eyes that light up at the sound of music, specifically singing. Though there is not very much, yet, he has dark brown hair. Just like his mother it seems has taken on the traits of the Artemis clan. His will be a wonderful addition to Dome 68.
AN: This news article is more of a prologue to kind of introduce Cadence and hint at how the society works. The rest of the story will be in third person limited with Cadence as the main character! It may be a while before I get anything up- I'd like to plan it before trying to tackle it! It will be a great story though!
