"The man - beast."
I felt guilty for ever attending the class, leaving my father in the dark but I just couldn't. I knew he'll be mad-- no, outraged once he'll discover, I've taken up the fashion designing course behind his back. I'm sure he'll understand. This was the only dream that my mother once had.
The instructor had dismissed us once she took a glance of her wristwatch. I sighed in relief once the class was over. It wasn't the fact that it was boring but rather she merely discussed the basic terminologies which I already did memorize at the back of my head.
My boots scrunched from the gravely sidewalk, taking my sling bag with me. Most people gave me short glances as I passed through them. I rubbed my hands for friction as the cold breeze had brushed my body. I instantly regreted wearing a long sleeved blouse. Technically, I hadn't known that it was winter season here in Magnolia.
Suddenly, a scaled scarf was thrown around my face. I grimaced once I noticed that it looked old and fading. My eyes searched through the owner of the scarf. I felt my blood run through my face once I had found him. His slanted dark eyes had gazed at me almost endlessly.

Frustration reigned on me as I tried to tie my hair again. Sometimes small baby hairs stood out while my other tries, the smaller strands fell free from the grip. It wasn't really that hard to tie my hair but it's just that I want it to look even. I knew this was my usual hairstyle but something inside just wanted to make it perfect. I feel like I was really trying hard to please him. This unsettling feeling in my gut, was telling me that this had happened before. I could pinpoint what it was but the answer was definitely him.
I have certainly come to the conclusion that if he would with us, then a familiar face in my past would help me recover all those memories.
"Let me see the folder, Momo." She handed down a white parchment. Natsu Dragneel. 26 years of age. Studied Civil Engineering at Magnolia University. Magnolia University? His profile background had confirmed my suspicion. He definitely knew what had happened or maybe he has a connection that could link me with those empty years.
I only applied a light make up whivh only enhance my natural features. I breathed out once I looked at myself through the full body mirror. What has gotten into me? I was usually never this nervous. Ignore it, Lucy. He's just a man I'll meet. Keep calm.
At Despi's 3 p.m. sharp
My cardigan was enough to keep my warm from the cold breeze that brushed through my form. It felt like this was something that was bound to happen. I checked on my watch to find that I was just in time.
I made my way inside the establishment, feeling some of their gazes into mine. I just couldn't care less. I need to get this business proposal over with. "Is reservation for Mr. Dragneel here?" The receptionist had looked into her log book before ushering me to one of their private rooms.
A man tucked in his expensive suit was already waiting for me, but this guy wasn't the one I thought it will be. He gave a charming smile as I took a seat in front of him. "Miss Heartfilia, what a pleasant afternoon." He greeted, offering his hand for me to shake. "Mr. Dragneel, I assume you had known what I came here for."
"Of course. Please just call me Zeref, Mr. Dragneel is just too formal." His jet black hair was cleanly fixed and made me wonder whose side of his family did have those features. "I apologize in behalf of my brother. I assure you he'll be coming in shortly. "
"I'm Lucy. Lucy Heartfilia" Zeref had already ordered for the both of us, as the waiter came and settled the dishes on the table. The first dish is what I had presumed as caldereta was the first thing I reluctantly stared at. "It's a Filipino dish I ordered. Please try it."
I took a small amount from my spoon and tasted it. I felt myself hum in it's delicious flavor. The next one was called bulalo which he introduced as cow's knee calf.
"So you're dream is to become a chef?" He meekly gave a friendly smile. His eyes lit up with sudden interest. "Yes, but my Dad wouldn't allow us. He wanted me to marry someone of his choosing." I simply scrutinized him throughout the meeting. I had noticed that this guy was some type of a casanova. I had noticed how his eyes gaze from me down to the waitresses who passed by the open door.
"Excuse me." A voice had said through the entrance. His voice held a commanding tone to it. "Would you show me where the Dragneel reservation is?" I felt my heart thumped loudly from my chest once his footsteps resonated from the wooden door. Zeref had stood up from his seat to meet the new arrival. "Natsu. "
"Zeref." I curiously looked at the two who exchanged some glances . "Lucy, this is Engineer Natsu Dragneel my brother." His stormy eyes we're clouded and I couldn't even decipher out his emotion. "Lucy Heartfilia, heiress of the Heartfilia chain of hotels."
"I guess I'll be longer needed. I'll see you when I see you brother." He left, leaving me to this rosy haired man. Both of us he went back to the table and had settled down the chairs. His eyes had turned into charcoal black once we we're both alone. His cool facade had turned into something hateful. My mind went blank as endless possibilities appeared on my mind. What have I done with this man? He just seemed so important to me.
"So this is where you stayed." He hissed menacingly. His deep colored eyes stared through my soul. My mouth went agape as his hand held my arm in a tight grip. Who was this man? My questioning thoughts lingered as a look of hatred was set on me. "Now what? You're running away again? I'm sick and tired of the games you play, Lucy. It's time we turned tables."
One I had noticed was his unusual spiky pale rose hair. "W- What are you talking about?" I stammered, too loss of words. Natsu Dragneel. Another thing I barely remembered was his name and the rest remained like a blank page. "You won't fool me again. You won't deceive me with the lies you started to sprout!" He pushed me against the wall, keeping his disgusted look on me. "Should I know you?! Please, whatever I did in the past, I'm sorry!"
"I will make you regret for playing with my feelings."
