15th Downfall

"In which she slowly gets close to remembering."

It was a tiring day. I mused as I sat on the couch after completing the list he gave me. After a couple of minutes, the silence became unbearable to me, enabling my mind to wander off of things I wouldn't want to think about as of the moment. The work had kill the time and had let me gave a breather about the undeniable tension between us. I knew and felt it as well as the impulsive man sitting at his office all day long. His eyes hardens whenever he stares but I knew better. It was better off that would be on separate ways. Why was he making it hard for me? Natsu Dragneel was some kind of disease that keeps crawling in my mind. He won't touch me unless I would approve of it yet it was hard for me to do so. His touch was nerve wracking as well as it gave a sense of familiarity. But this is what I want, isn't it? To remember the dark spaces inside my mind.

I was overthinking it but the mere presence of him, making his way downstairs made me stop of my thoughts. "Luce- is it bad that I want something more?" My head slightly throbbed as he descended towards me, his shoulders were a bit stiff noticing the small pain in my eyes. "Lucy! Look at me!" His voice screams in my head. A small vivid image of him came past my mind before the pain stopped. A sense of embarrassment overwhelmed me. "Lucy?" The present Natsu came beside me, eyebrows knotted from worry and curiosity. "I- I'm fine. It was a small headache." He remained silent before moving closer to me.

Natsu had gone off to check one of his clients early in the morning, leaving me inside his pad. He didn't have the audacity to wake me up just to tell me but only leaving a note which had said it all. I came dressed and ready to go, noting that I had to report in my father's office for the day. A small knock came from the door before I could turn its knob. It could be Natsu for all I know. I thought as I opened the door myself. I was greeted by a red head. Her eyes had slightly widen as she took notice of me. She quickly regained her senses. "Where is Natsu-kun?" I was mute for a moment, contemplating to explain why I was in his property or just get on with it. "He left early today." My voice slightly shook, feeling a bit surprised myself, as well as a hint of disappointment.

Natsu hadn't told her girlfriend? I thought as her left eyebrow raised. "What are you doing in his unit?"  Kamika looked like a ticking timebomb, awaiting for my answer. The woman could scratch me with her nails if I made a wrong move. "I was-"

"She's here because of the agreement." Another voice came from behind her. She turned her body to see that Natsu was already there, done from inspecting one of his ongoing projects. His hair was slightly out of place from his usual hairstyle and some strands standing out from the rest. However, the male was wearing a mere sleeveless shirt and shorts, something you wouldn't see so often aside from his formal attire. "Natsu!" Her demeanor changed quickly as she dashed at his side, hugging the male with gusto. "Kamika, what are you doing here?" Her eyes turned to me. "But was is she doing in here?" She ended asking in a sneer. The man hadn't seem to notice as he casually answered. "She's here because she needed to clean my space as an agreement to help her." Kamika slowly nodded yet her eyes held the cold stare.

Her eyes once turned brightly as she beamed at him. "I was wondering if we could have breakfast since you came in a rush." She said suggestively her lips slightly went near in his face. "Lucy!" His smile was contagious as I had unconsciously let out a smile as well. "Breakfast with me?" I tapped my chin in a teasing manner before saying a full blown yes. My head throbbed once again, masking it as Natsu's words rang in my ears. "But Lucy's going with us."

"What?!" She shrieked loudly before recomposing. "I- I mean why?" His face slightly frowned. "Because she needs to eat as well." I mentally sighed. So basically, I'm the third wheeler now? And the unnecessary competition at that too..
