"In which a scenario she had to endure."
Whether it was my heart or my brain, it still hurt. We all sat comfortably at a simple restaurant a few kilometers from the unit. Kamika had sat beside Natsu who seemed too oblivious to her advances or better yet- flirting. I didn't which was worse, hearing her constant chatter or the dull pain which resides both my two important organs. But why the heart as well? I wondered. My line of sight focused on these pair in front of me. His attention was on the menu and not on the woman who looks ravishing in her dress. In that I don't know. Typical Natsu. My subconscious had said for me.
Her breast- eherm- chest was rubbing off of her arms while the male was salivating... of the menu. My face had unconsciously scrunched whether it was from disgust or the shameless flirting. "Lucy?" His head turned upwards. "Hm?"
"What would you want?" Both their gazes were on me. I had noticed Kamika's were staring at me as a threat rather than just an acquaintance. It was different when we were on the villa. "Just anything would be fine." Natsu slightly frowned before ordering at the waiter. His attention were now focused on Kamika afterwards. "There's some mayo in your face." His eyes hinted in mischief before putting a slab of mayo at the side of my face. "Oh and yours has mustard here!"
"So unfair Natsu! Get back here!"
"Aaack!"
She whispered in his ear before the male had laughed. Kamika's eyes darted to mine, a triumphant smile on her face.
Kamika gleefully look at him. "I had a great time." I rolled my eyes heavenwards, finding a bit annoyed now that she was getting in my nerves. Typical teenage afterdate lines. I thought before looking at them, watching Kamika gave a small peck at the side of his lips. "It's fine." Natsu said. Isn't it the other way around?
Natsu had drove me off to the company's building, making a short nod of farewell. I had made sure that my clothes weren't scrunched for the day. "Miss!" A long blob of disheveled brown hair was the first thing I saw when Momo had seen me outside. I gave a small wave before she trudged towards me. "Sir Heartfilia had informed me that this meeting is quite urgent and that you should've been here ahead of time." I simply nodded.
I was greeted by a stern looking father who had crossed his arms rather impatiently. He checked his watch before turning to me. "Hello father." Jude Heartfilia grunted as he looked through the window. "Before we start the meeting at the conference room, there is something alarming happening in the company right under my nose." His teeth gritted in annoyance as his large hands shoved two folders in front of me. "Apparently someone had the audacity to change my supplies to cheaper ones with the same amount of budget we used to spend." I scanned through the folders receiving unbalanced accounts and missing records. "Everything is exactly the same record yet none of them had given a report on this." His voice rose at the end of his statement. "Someone right under us is stealing from our company and that someone is either desperate for money or trying to sabotage our business."
Momo had looked at me expectantly as I sat in my own office. The possible culprit was one of the board members due to the power and rights among other things. However, none of them were too suspicious and it could possibly mean that the enemy might not be only one person. "Everything was a lie." Her eyes gleamed darkly under the city lights, casually putting a brown envelope in front of me, a smirk appeared in her pretty face. "From the moment he was there, defending you or the moment he gave you the scarf, was all a lie. You were so pathetic that he'd got right under you. Do you actually think he loves you? You were just a thing that he used so to make me jealous." Her eyes were of menacing green yet as I look upon her face, it was all foggy and hazy. It made my head throb again but this time, I was going to fight this.
"Miss? Are you alright?" Her torso ducked to see my expression. "I'm fine. I'm fine." I muttered. Everything was still pieces of puzzle I had yet to solve. "Uhm miss.. you were invited to a charity ball by the Heartlock family." I averted my gaze to one of the small envelopes atop of my desk. Heartlock. As long as I could remember, were once the company's enemy not until they had sought truce. "I- It's a- actually an event for the benefit of orphaned children."
