Part 15: Forget and Forgive

Sorry haven't updated in awhile, been busy at school so...  In this part I'm gonna start writing from Maya's point of view too so vote and spread the word about this book and I hope you guys enjoy the last few chapters!

Maya's POV

It's only been two days since the dance, and yet I find myself walking over to Lucas's house. I have no idea what to say to him. I'm still figuring that out but then I reach the door. Deep breaths, Maya. Okay, here I go. I knock twice. No answer.
I'm about to turn around when the door suddenly opens and Lucas steps out.
"Maya" he says, looking at me. He goes outside the house and shuts the door.
"Hey Lucas" I say. He looks at me again. We haven't spoken since I screamed at him at the dance. Well, duh.
"What are you doing here?" He asks nervously.
"Well..." I start. He stares at me. "I just wanted to say sorry."
His blank expression turned into a surprised one.
"Maya, I'm the one who needs to say sorry."
"No, no, no. It was wrong to shout at you, and I'm sorry."
"Well, it was wrong to try to kiss Riley who already has a boyfriend while I was on a date with you, so I'm sorry too."
We smile.
"You know," says Lucas, "it's kinda surprising that you would come all the way here just to apologize."
"Why?" I ask.
"Well, you're Maya"
I laugh. "Well," I say, "I have something else to say to you."
He looks at me.
"I think you should go ask Riley out."
"What?" He says. "She has a boyfriend."
"They broke up."
He raised his eyebrows.
"Yesterday"
He starts to say something about it being his fault but I interrupt.
"It was their own decision, you didn't have anything to do with it."
He smiles. "Well that's good...so... You really think I should ask Riley out?"
"Maybe give them a bit of time first but.... Why not? You're Ranger Rick after all" I say.

Riley's POV

I was sitting on my bed when Lucas climbs into the bay window.
"Hi" I say. "Hi" he replies.
I go to sit down beside him then he turns to me.
"Riley," he says, "I need to talk to you."
"Okay...." I say.
"I made a decision, and I chose you."
"Oh" is all I say. Then I say "yay?"
"I know you broke up with Miles already"
I look down.
"Sorry to put it that way." He says.
"Hey, it's okay" I tell him.
He looks at me then asks, "Riley, do you still like me?"
I look back at him. "Yes, actually I still do."
He smiles. "I know now might be too early still, but maybe someday...just maybe... we can be...uh....you know?" he asks me.
"Of course" I say.
I reach out to hold his hand and he does the same.
He smiles at me. I lift our hands.
"Someday."
He lets go of my hand, kisses me on the cheek, then climbs out the bay window.

After Lucas leaves, I make a plan to get Miles and Maya together.
