"Jimin, do you remember when I told you I wanted a future with you?" Yoongi asked. Jimin looked over, trying and failing to make out his expression in the dimly lit room. The TV's light offered no help.

So Jimin replied cautiously, "Yes."

"Um, assuming you're still willing," Yoongi said, then stood up as Jimin watched in confusion. Yoongi turned off the TV, then cursed as he tripped over furniture on his way to the light switch. When the lights came on, Jimin saw that Yoongi looked nervous and pale. He had one hand behind his back, and he chewed at his bottom lip. Jimin sat up on the couch.

"Yoongi, are you okay?" he asked. Yoongi flushed and brought his hand in front of him. In his palm was a small black box. Jimin stared at it, unable to put the pieces together for some odd reason. It seemed as though his brain had shut off the moment he saw the box.

"Jimin," Yoongi began, then paused to take a deep breath. He knelt down in front of Jimin, and Jimin stood up, as if someone else were controlling him.

"Have you been holding that the whole time?" Jimin blurted out. Yoongi continued on as if he hadn't heard Jimin's trilled question.

"I love you a lot, and fuck, I should've planned this out or something. But um, Jimin, you're my everything, and..." Jimin finally understood what was happening as Yoongi fumbled the box open with nervous, flighty fingers. Jimin thought they were both going to pass out.

"P-Park Jimin, my Flower Boy, will you marry me?" Yoongi looked up at Jimin, eyes a mosaic of hope and anxiety.

"Of course!" Jimin exclaimed, a tiny smile on his lips. He wanted to scream and jump up and down but if he did that, he'd actually pass out. His heart started to palpitate as Yoongi slid the ring onto his finger and chucked the box aside. Yoongi stood up and put a hand on the back of Jimin's head, cradling it.

"I was so afraid you'd say no," Yoongi muttered, then laughed.

"You're an idiot," Jimin grinned, nuzzling their foreheads together. Yoongi allowed a relieved smile to spread across his face, and Jimin's own smile grew in return. They giddily stared into each other's eyes, then Yoongi angled Jimin's head with the hand tangled in his hair and brought their lips together. They broke apart, faces glowing.

"Wait," Jimin said, smile melting. "I don't have a ring for you."

"But you do," Yoongi said, holding up his left hand. The silver band that matched Jimin's gleamed, and Jimin reached out, pressing his hand to Yoongi's. He gently plucked the band off Yoongi's middle finger and transferred it to his ring finger. Jimin recaptured Yoongi's lips, and it was the most blissful, perfect moment of his life.

~~~
Yoongi never told Jimin why he used to flinch at loud noises, or fully explained why he had tried to push Jimin away in the beginning.
But Jimin didn't care, because whenever he looked at Yoongi, he didn't see a hint of the pain that had once filled his eyes. He saw happiness, and that happiness was genuine. Jimin supposed that was all he needed.
Yoongi smiled a lot more these days, and Jimin never once doubted their love. He knew that as long as he was alive, his heart was safe in Yoongi's hands. They moved out of their apartments and bought a small, cute house a few streets down from the flower shop. Jimin loved the house; it was pastel blue and had a tiny yard. He and Yoongi planted cherry trees and filled their indoor space with fairy lights and plants.
It was home in the most beautiful way Jimin could have ever imagined, but something was missing. The atmosphere was too quiet for them, and they finally bought a beautiful mahogany baby grand. From that moment on, Jimin's days were filled with the smell of flowers, the rich sounds of the piano, and Yoongi's gummy smiles.
Jimin had found love after all.
