Song: You found meChapter 31: Till death do us part
Death will come like a thief in the night
Unexpectedly
Unknowingly
It will come and it will take
It will leave nothing behind
Death is cruel
Death is not kind
It doesn't care about your feelings
It doesn't care about you
It will suck you dry
And leave you to wither
Death will leave you broken
Unfixable
Unattainable
And even if you are not deaths next victim
You might as well be
Because death will leave you lifeless anyway
Cheyenne's POV
I'd be lying if I said funerals were my thing.
They weren't anyone's thing.
But they really, really, really, weren't my thing.
First off I've never been to an actual funeral before. I know you wear black to go with the whole gloomy theme but how do you act? How do you stand, how do you look? Do you cry? Are you heartless if you don't? Are you too emotional if you do?
I put my straightener down and used a black headband to push my hair back. I had on a long sleeved black dress that went to my knees, black pumps, and a long black coat.
I wonder why the weathers always bad for funerals? Is it the earth mourning for another lost?
The funeral procession was scheduled to leave Sebastian's house at ten o' clock exactly. We dropped Ava off at Ms. Perkins because I thought bringing a baby to a funeral wasn't the best idea.
The drive felt long and I picked at a loose thread on my coat. My stomach started churning as the cars filed into the church parking lot. By the time I got out I felt absolutely nauseous. I almost tripped in my heels.
Get it together Cheyenne. You have to be strong. You promised her that.
When we entered the church my parents sat by Sebastian's family. I stood in the back feeling lost until my mom came back and pulled me to sit with them.
I never knew a human could look so emotionless until I saw Sebastian. Whereas Haley was sobbing her eyes out he just stood motionless. I think the most frightening thing about it was how empty his eyes looked.
The priest came forward. "Let us all stand and join the choir to sing Amazing Grace."
Amazing grace, how sweet the soundThat saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found.
