few days later...

stephs pov:

I hate the sun.

I hate it so much right now.

I hate it when your having a really nice slumber but the sun has to ruin it for you 

and that's my predicament right now trying to shield the sun from my eyes so I can fall back to sleep. But two things are stopping me from doing so 

1. For obvious reason the stupid sun

2.  I just realize my so called mate isn't in the bed with me

it's not that I miss him it's just that this is the first time I woken up without him usually I wake up first or it's both of us that are awake together but never this.

with that in mind I couldn't help but be wide awake as I was deep in thought I realized there was a note by the coffee table I didn't waste any time to get up and read it 

good morning sleeping beauty so you finally woke up eh?

I hope you slept well I know you might be wondering where i'm at right? well I had some pack business to attend so don't worry I'm find I don't know how long I'll be here so once you get ready go with daisy and spend the day with her (i don't think she'll mind) I pick you up there when I'm done.

"awe you love him already" bell chipped in

"do not!"

"do too!" 

"shut up"

well it can't be helped I sighed to myself with that I got up to start the day.

as soon as I got ready I was debating if I should go with daisy I mean what if she's busy? Yeah I don't want to be a burden  to her.

yeah I can do this on my own I don't need daisy. 

Since I have the time I should explore the pack by myself yeah I can do this!

with that little pep talk I began walking the opposite direction

the opposite direction from daisy's room

"did I come from this direction? No I went that way! no maybe this way" 

if you haven't realized yet  i'm completely lost right now and have no idea where i'm at 

"you should have been paying more attention!" bell growled 

"well that goes for you too considering we share the same body!" I yelled back

" well if we listened to mate and went with daisy we would-" 

bell tried saying but stop once we both heard a whimper 

"did you hear that?" I asked bell trying to find the source of the whimper 

"yea-" but stop yet again when we heard voices behind the bushes 

" ha! Your so pathetic so weak you can't even defend yourself!"  said a boy that I immediately recognized and soon enough as I got closer I recognize the other two boys that were standing  right beside him. But that's not what made blood boil. It was the the fact that they were hurting the same boy I met when daisy was showing me around i think his name was alexander if I'm not mistaken 

" your so pathetic I can clearly see why your parent didn't want you" as soon as the older boy said this (i'm guessing the leader) they began to laugh and began to kick the poor kid

and all he did was curl in a ball trying to protect himself

" oh come on you can do better." the older boy said with a sinister smile as he was about to punch him. I couldn't stand this anymore before he could a punch  him I step forward

"what the heck do you think you guys are doing!" I yelled as I got out of the bushes ( no matter how mad I am at them I can't use bad words around children)

as soon as they saw me they looked like deer caught on headlight 

"if you don't get away from here this instant you'll regret it" I warned the 3 boys and they didn't need to be told twice because ran as if their lives depended on it 

good they should be afraid very afraid.

but I didn't dwell on the thought because right after they left my new priority was Alexander

"hey are you alright? " I asked as gentle as I could

but it's like my word didn't have any meaning to it, he looked so fragile so broken.

"hey hon-" I started to say but stop as I  heard him whisper something 

" mommy... mommy.. mommy..." he whispered in despair as he curled tighter in a ball as if wishing for his mom to truly come to his aid 

I don't know what got over me. I truly don't know. But I soon found myself reaching for him and hugging him tightly in my arm 

"don't worry baby I got you.  I got you mommy's got you" I whispered in his ear feeling sad  he had to go through all of this 

as soon as he heard this he couldn't help but look up with watery eyes 

as soon as he looked up I didn't waste time to wipe the tears out of his face and smiled as a few drop of my own began to fall off my face

"you were lonely weren't you? I'm sorry you had to go through all of this but no more you got me now. you got a new mommy" I whispered gently hoping he understood what I was saying

and all he did was hug me tighter and began to cry even more 

I don't know how long we stayed like that but as soon as he fell asleep in my arms I began to walk back to the pack house (i realized I was close to the park so now I wasn't lost anymore)

with my new son in my arms.
