"you're getting a new roommate!"

hoseok sat upright on his bed, legs in a cross position. he had been waiting for his new roommate to come for at least an hour. he was excited to have a new friend to talk to, considering he's been in this dull room by himself for over 6 months now. the clock on the wall ticked away, the only sound that was evident in his room. suddenly, he heard shuffling outside his door. hoseok straightened his back and got up from his spot on the hospital bed. he saw amber, his personal nurse, peek her head through the door.

"he's here, hoseok."

she opened the door to reveal a brown haired boy. he was quite short and his face was pale. he wore a dull expression. his eyes drooped and lips were in the form of a frown. in his hands was a small notebook. hoseok revealed a bright smile on his face before stretching out his arm. the other boy simply looked up at him with an unamused expression. he stared straight at hoseok, not making a single movement. hoseok laughed awkwardly before retracting his hand. his fingers scratched the back of his neck as he lets out another breathy chuckle.

"annyeonghaseyo! my name is hoseok, your roommate."

the boy remained silent, continuing to stare at hoseok. amber noticed the tension in the air before clearing her throat.

"uh-m hoseok, this is jimin. he'll be your new roommate from now on until one of you get discharged." she informed.

"thank you amber." hoseok said in a cheery tone.
