I was sat there in the waiting area of the hospital along with other mothers to be and couldn't help but feel like I might pass out from the anticipation. We left my house at 6 in the morning and acted like we were giddy to go school when really we skipped it and hung out in McDonalds until 8:30 and we’ve been waiting at the hospital since.

The longer I waited; I started to loath this place more and more. I kept on telling Kylie that we should leave but she was persistent on uncovering the truth. I fidgeted in my seat and let my eyes wander around the room. I then stopped to look at this one lady who was giving me the look. I slowly turned my gaze away from her and leant down to Kylie's ear.

"Kylie let's go! I made a mistake coming here." I pleaded for the umpteenth time.

"But you're up next, now take deep breaths and calm down. I did not drive you all the way here and waited this long to get nothing." She said and flipped a page of a magazine she's currently reading.

"I still don't understand why you have to wait when you've made an appointment." She commented.

"Well I did book it last minute. Those women before me probably already booked the appointment several days prior Kyles." I whispered back to her and she clicked her tongue.

"Rubbish".

"Ms. Taylor Kennedy Smith." One of the nurses called out, instantly making me sit up rigidly.

"Ms. Taylor?" The nurse called out yet again and I still couldn't seem to bring myself to open my mouth to answer until Kylie nudged my side.

"Y-yes?" I stuttered and the nurse smiled.

"Oh, there you are. I thought you'd left." She chuckled at her silliness once Kylie and I approached her and I gave her a small smile.

"Why would I do that?" I chuckled sheepishly.

The nurse laughed along and led us into an office that was probably more sterilized than the entire hospital itself. She sat us down on a couple of chairs in front of what I assume was the doctor's desk and she smiled at us again. Honestly, she was a very sweet woman who looked to be around twenty-five. She was pretty too.

"Doctor Nesman will be right with you in a minute, he's just getting things ready." She said and I nodded my head. She then excused herself from the office and Kylie turned to look at me.

"It's going to be so awkward seeing that the doctor is an old man who saw you when you were a baby and is going to see if you have a baby." She mumbled and I hit her on the arm.

"Grow up will you?" I scolded and looked about his office. It's been so long since I've been in this office that I forgot how it looked like. Most of the time, Jason calls him over to our house whenever I get sick so we rarely came to his office.

"Mrs. Smith, I am terribly sorry for the delays today. I lost track of time this morning." A male's voice spoke just as the doors opened revealing a very handsome man who was probably in mid twenties or early thirties. He wasn't ugly at all nor was he old looking.
