The next morning, I woke up feeling well rested and fantastic! Not even Nick's presence at the table during breakfast could bring my mood down. It probably had something to do with last night's events, but I was as happy as a kid on Christmas Day. My brother on the other hand was a complete mess. It's the toughest I'd ever see him be in.

In the middle of breakfast, he came in looking a little out of place. He woke up late today and he was rushing in a panic. The buttons of his shirt missed a couple of slots, and his hair was a disgruntled mess. His tie was undone and lying around his neck.

"Shit, shit, shit!" He curses under his breath before setting down his bag and suit jacket on the chair next to me.

Carla gives me a look and nods over to Jason, telling me to help him first because she was still busy prepping his breakfast to go. Carla very rarely cooks, she even very rarely preps us lunches unless she's in the mood, something good must've happened to her.

"You missed one," Casey pointed out to Jason.

He looks down to inspect and lets out a  frustrated grunt before fixing it. Carla had gotten up to pack his breakfast and I decided to finally be of help too by handing him a glass of milk that will at least hold him off for a little bit. He thanked me before chugging it down. I then asked if he wanted another one, but he shook his head.

"I'm good".

"Food is in your bag." Carla said whilst stuffing the lunch box in.

"You should stop bringing work, home." I said.

"I had no choice." He replied, running a hand through his hair, styling and combing it at the same time.

"Dad was on my ass with the reports. Don't worry, though, this will be the last time." He said and put on his watch.

"You'd think that working at the families' company, your dad will give you an easy time, but that's never the case." Casey mused, to which Nick nodded in agreement and Jason chuckled in cynically.

"I can't wait until you guys get to feel the joy." He said, putting a sarcastic emphasis on the word Joy.

"Ugh, you're stinking up the whole room. Take your negativity to work and don't forget to spray perfume. You're stress sweating already." Carla said, sitting back next to Nick.

"Right, thank you." Jason replied, rushing to gather his things.

For all my life, I know my brother always as a clean person, hygiene and body odour ignorance is never an option for him, but you also can't help what you naturally have, so there are times that if Jason gets too stressed out, he eventually starts to sweat and stink. So he made it a habit to bring a change of clothes and perfume in his car for emergencies.

I don't know if it was the memory of being unfortunate enough to smell his stress-sweats, or the actual thing happening next to me, but it was starting to make me feel icky. I tried holding it in because I didn't want to draw unnecessary attention. I tried my best to hide my nausea by resting the tip my chin on the palm of my hand and covered my nose every once in a while,

"Alright, bye!" Jason said to the room.

He walked toward Carla and gave her a quick hug before bidding his farewell to Casey and Nick as he went around. I was dreading the moment where he got to me. And when it finally came, he gave me a quick hug and kissed the top of my head. I put my hand to his chest and lightly pushed him away.
