Mia sat up. She sat up from underneath Ellie, all slow and sensual, moving carefully, as if climbing up from beneath Ellie in a warm breathless slide. She pushed at Ellie as she moved, shifting Ellie upwards and out the way, her hands stroking Ellie’s skin wherever they happened to land, and her mouth open, kissing and wanting and needing. Mia sat up, and then pulled Ellie forward onto her lap.

Ellie moved with her, once she understood what Mia was doing. She sat on Mia, and then slipped her arms and legs around her, hugging and holding Mia close.

Because sitting there, hugging, just seemed the thing to do.

Ellie held onto Mia, and breathed in the smell of her. She kissed Mia’s shoulder, and was happy. Sitting there felt nice.

Ellie didn’t quite understand what they were doing, but she liked the hug. She sat, and stroked, and kissed, and wondered if this was a quick rest from sex. Then Mia put her hands on Ellie’s hips, and pulled her forward, lifting slightly.

Showing Ellie how to move, Ellie suddenly realized.

This wasn’t a rest at all.

Ellie moved, and as she did, she suddenly understood.

She slid. She was still pressed against Mia, somehow. She had no idea how, or what she was pressing against, but it worked wonderfully well and the slither felt as good as it had when they were lying down.

Mia kissed Ellie, and moved her feet. She slid them around underneath Ellie, so Ellie felt Mia’s toes pressing against her. She was wrapped inside Mia, wrapped in Mia’s arms, being held, hugging Mia back. They could hold each other in a way they couldn’t when they were lying down, Ellie realized. A better way. More of an actual hug, completely enclosed all over, and with stroking touches against their arms and backs.

Ellie liked it. She adored it. She took a moment to realized Mia was moving too.

Mia was pushing, lifting slightly, encouraging Ellie to slide up and down. Ellie realized, and did, but wasn’t sure she was moving quite right. She was jerky, not smooth like when Mia was moving against her. Ellie worried a little, about bumping herself, or bumping Mia, or banging them together too hard and hurting herself.

“I can’t do it properly,” Ellie said.

Mia kissed her. “You can. You’re fine.”

“I’m not,” Ellie said.

“Don’t be difficult,” Mia said, and kissed Ellie. “Calm down.” After a moment, she added, “Do you like?”

Ellie nodded.

“Like it enough?” Mia said. “Or not so much? Want to keep going? Want to stop?”

“It’s better when you do it to me.”

Mia looked at Ellie, and almost seemed like she was going to sigh.

“It is,” Ellie said. “Honestly.”

“Yeah,” Mia said. “And it’s better when you do me, too. That would be the having it done to you. So really don’t make a thing of it.”

Ellie was surprised. So surprised she almost stopped moving. It didn’t seem like she could be even halfway good at this, the first time she tried, but Mia was saying it, and she didn’t know why Mia would lie.

“Hey,” Mia said, and pushed with her hands, reminding Ellie to slither up and down.

Ellie move again. She still felt unreasonably insecure.

Mia was looking at Ellie, and apparently understood Ellie’s confusion. She kissed Ellie again, and said, “Really, you’re good at it.”

“You really liked me doing it to you?” Ellie said.

“Ellie,” Mia said. “Fuck. Of course I do. Couldn’t you tell?”

Ellie didn’t answer.

“When I came, for fuck’s sake?”

Ellie started to smile. “I suppose.”

“So stop worrying so much. You were fucking amazing. And now I’m going to be amazing back, for you.”

Ellie nodded. “Okay.”

“Good,” Mia said, and kissed her again. Then said, very softly, very tenderly, into Ellie’s ear, “You’re completely impossible.”

“Sorry,” Ellie whispered.

“Don’t be,” Mia said, into Ellie’s ear. “I get why.”

Ellie felt more comfortable, talking quietly into Mia’s neck. “I don’t,” she whispered.

“This is all new.”

“It is,” Ellie said. “But still…”

“It’s just new,” Mia said. “And different. And you think too much.”

“I do.”

“But let me do this for you. Let me show you.”

Slowly, Ellie nodded.

“You want me to?” Mia said.

“Yep,” Ellie whispered.

Ellie pressed her face to Mia’s shoulder, and held onto Mia with everything she had, and kept moving slowly. Warmly and slowly. After a moment, Ellie realized that she could be pushing with her feet. With her toes. Lifting herself that way. It made it easier. She began to do that instead.

They moved against each other a little longer, and Ellie felt hot and melting and breathless against Mia.

Then Mia moved. She shifted slightly, and slid towards the edge of the bed. She slid slowly, lifting Ellie, taking Ellie with her, then turned sideways, and sat with her legs over the side. Ellie wasn’t sure what was happening. She could feel Mia moving, as though she was stretching her legs, and wiggling her feet. As if they’d gone to sleep.

Ellie suddenly realized. They’d been doing it this way for too long, and Mia was getting sore. She felt terrible.

“We can stop,” Ellie said.

“We don’t need to.”

“You’re sore.”

“Not sore, just…”

“Your legs went to sleep?”

“Um,” Mia said. “Yeah.”

“So we can stop.”

“Do you like this?” Mia said. “Or do you want to try something else.”

“I like this a lot,” Ellie said. “But I think I need more practice.”

Mia grinned. “So practice.”

“Later,” Ellie said. “Another time.”

“So…?”

“Something else,” Ellie said.
