"She'll make you take her
to the club, but then
she'll leave with her friends."

MAYA

I've never dreaded going to school so much. I knew Farkle has the locker aside me. I knew Farkle had sit next to me in science. I knew he'd be with our group at lunch. I knew he was obsessive. I knew this would kill me.

Farkle was always early to class. I'll easily take the lates every period, if it meant avoiding him at the lockers.

Hurriedly taking a seat after the late bell, I pulled out all my books and made it appear like I was concentrated on the lesson. It worked for a good twenty minutes, until I was taking notes.

He grabbed my notebook, and wrote on a separate page.

"Why so focused?"

"Why so worried?" I faced it towards him for a second, then placed it back on my desk.

The bell rang and I walked out.

I was free until lunch.

In every class, I zoned out.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?" I asked.

Because I have to. Guys like Farkle don't just walk into my life. I have to have some feelings for him, right? But where did all of this even come from? I need to keep my distance so I lose all feelings. If I wanted to be with him, I'd enjoy this rather than it being overwhelming.

I walked to Rileys locker.

"Riles, could we PLEASEEE go eat lunch elsewhere? I just want us to talk. Could use a break from the boys, right?!" I lied.

She smiled. "Sure!"

FARKLE

I sat across from Lucas, no Maya or Riley.

"Just us today, huh?" Lucas asked.

"Well, yeah, but Mayas been avoiding me since yesterday. She probably dragged Riley into it." I fiddled with my fingers nervously.

"For no reason?"

"No... I held her hand Sunday." I looked down.

"Why?"

He furrowed his eyebrows together.

"Because she's right, we aren't friends. She's avoiding me since she knows it." I came to realization. "And she doesn't want us to be more than that, for some reason."

"Then go ask her." He stated.

"Maybe I should. But maybe, I'm also tired of these games. If she wants distance, I can give it to Maya. Jealously can win her over", I growled to myself.

MAYA

I walked into class, same ritual as yesterday. Yet this time, he didn't do anything. Huh. I shrugged the stinging feeling off, because this is what I wanted.

What I didn't know was that more stinging was coming my way. I see a girl walking away with Farkle to class.

He had math. It explains him with Isadora.

I mean, they're perfect for each other. They're both geniuses, and she has crushed on him for the longest time.

I didn't know what to do. I wasn't jealous, but angry. That fucking fuck boy.

I walked out of school, and aimlessly to Rileys house. That was automatically my safe place.

I saw Josh. My first instinct was shit, but that lasted a good two seconds.

"Hey, Josh" I beamed.

"Maya, what are you doing here?"

"I needed to leave school early." I spat.

He sat beside me. "What's up?"

Wow. Him sitting besides me sent more signals than Farkle has ever had.

"This kid, Farkle. We were working on a science project and that's all I ever wanted it to be. That was my intention too. He wouldn't let it be though, and I don't understand why. He had began to grow on me. Farkle wasn't just a normal guy from the start, and we couldn't leave it at that though. He held my hand when Riley left the bay window yesterday. That's when I knew he wasn't playing. I've been keeping my distance as of today and that's when he randomly has a thing with a girl he—"
My eyes were stinging.

The rant had got interrupted by Josh placing a hand on my cheek.

"Shhh." He calmly assisted.

"Thank you, for letting me ramble, but this can't happen again." I sprang to my feet.

"It wouldn't." He gripped onto my wrist.

I shoved back and ran out the window.

FARKLE

"Stop." I weakly say blushing, pulling away from our kisses.

"I'm glad you came to me today. I'm always here for you." Isadora giggled, latching onto his hand.

When walking to math class with Isadora, I told her about the whole Maya situation. I was confused on what to do, and I just needed advice. After school we went to her house to talk more, and this had unexpectedly happened.

"Did you ever really like Maya?"

"I did. But I was missing out." I draped my arm around her.

"I'm glad." She cooed, resting her head against my shoulder.

The dark haired girl gladly stayed in that position for a half hour, meanwhile the flustered boy was regretful of what he said.
