Bert came back later, stumbling upon the terrible sight that was currently Frank, who was curled up on the couch. Tears stained his cheeks and there was still a bit of blood on him, despite trying to clean himself up. He was sleeping, and Bert felt a surge of hatred for Gerard rush through him like a fucking tidal wave. Bert rushed over to the sleeping Frank, and brushed some hair out of his eyes. How could Gerard do something like this?
Bert climbed up the latter, only to see Gerard sitting on a bed, casually writing, as if nothing had happened. "Are you writing about rape?" Bert sneered, lifting his top lip. "Since clearly that's what happened down there-"
"Don't question me!" Gerard screeched suddenly, shutting his laptop. "I brought you here to help me, not sympathize with him!" Gerard stood up and walked over to Bert, grabbing him by the collar.
"You forced me to come here, you fucking asshole!" Bert snapped, shoving Gerard away from him. "You threatened to kill me!" Bert punched Gerard in the jaw, and instantly regretted it, but he didn't let it show. "I was your best fucking friend, and he was your love! Not your fucking toy!"
Gerard lunged at Bert, pinning him to the ground, his hands wrapped around Bert's throat. "You dare fight me?" Gerard tightened his grip, and didn't let go for a few minutes after Bert went limp. After Gerard realized what he'd just done, he let out a soft whimper. He just killed his best friend. Gerard knelt next to Bert, and brushed hair out of his face.
"I'm sorry," Gerard whispered, running his hands through Bert's hair. "I'm so fucking sorry!" Gerard let out a sob, and leaned over Bert's body. Tears steamed down Gerard's face, as he cried. Another minute passed, and in that minute Frank woke up and climbed the latter to see what was going on.
"Bert?" Frank wondered, looking at the body on the floor. Frank's eyes filled with tears. "You killed him!" Frank screamed at Gerard. "He promised to get me out of here!" Frank fell to his knees and crawled over to Bert. "No no no no no no no." Frank cried, just as Gerard did.
"Frank I'm so fucking sorry," Gerard whimpered, his eyes still streaming tears. Gerard reached out to touch his cheek, but quickly pulled his hand back. "Fuck, no, what did I do?" Gerard ran his hands through his own hair. "I lost the two people who cared about me. . ." Frank felt a surge of anger run through him, but the second Gerard pulled Frank into his chest, just to hold him, that anger was replaced with sympathy.
Frank grabbed Gerard's shirt and started to cry even more. "Gerard take me home," Frank whimpered quietly. Gerard nodded and held onto Frank, who was still crying into his shirt.
"Okay Frank. Okay, I can take you back to Billie," Gerard said. He stood up and pulled Frank with him, studying his features intently. My god, even crying he was still beautiful.
"No. That's not what I mean, please take me home with you," Frank told him. Gerard smiled and helped Frank down the latter before responding.
"Gladly."

When they arrived at Gerard's small apartment, Gerard couldn't stop apologizing to Frank. Every other word or of his mouth was "sorry", but Frank had forgiven him before they even left the cabin. "Can I shower? You can come with if you want," Frank offered, smiling up at Gerard who now beamed with happiness.
"No sex or anything," Gerard told him, and Frank uttered some words of agreement. The two of them made their way into the bathroom and stripped of their clothes, before turning on the water. Gerard ran his fingers over the scrapes, bruises, and cuts on Frank's body once stepped in the shower, and Gerard started crying, apologizing even more.
"I accept your apology, love, don't worry," Frank assured him, grabbing the shampoo and putting some in his hands before lathering it into his hair. Gerard nodded slowly and did the same, still feeling exceptionally guilty, as he should. "I just want to know why you did it, is all. Was it for your book?" Frank asked, sticking his head under the stream of water, rinsing out his hair.
"The murders were, yes, I can't deny that. The r. . . that, wasn't. I was pissed and I took my anger out on you by doing that and I wish I could go back and change the fact," Gerard told Frank, frowning deeply. Frank nodded slowly, as he still felt a bit uneasy around Gerard.
"Please don't ever do anything like that again, Gee," Frank whispered, his eyes filling with tears. Gerard quickly shook his head.
"Never again," Gerard assured the younger. "Can I hug you, Frank?" Frank responded by pulling Gerard into a warm hug. Gerard wrapped his arms back around the shorter boy, who was now crying on Gerard's shoulder. "Let it all out, Frankie," Gerard soothed, rubbing Frank's back comfortingly.
"I love you, Gerard. I don't think anything you can do would ever change that fact, either," Frank cried, his arms tightening around Gerard, pulling him into a tighter hug. Gerard's heart melted at those words, and a wave of guilt swept over him.
"I love you too, never ever forget that, I will always love you, and I'm really sorry about what I did," Gerard told Frank, moving around so he could turn off the water. Frank nodded against Gerard's shoulder and kept his arms wrapped around him tightly. "We have to dry off, you have to let go, love." Frank nodded and moved away from Gerard, who grabbed two towels. Gerard quickly dried himself off and started drying off Frank, who seemed to be unable to move.
Once they were both dry, Gerard got two pairs of sweatpants, boxers, and a t-shirt and flannel. Gerard got dressed quickly, the t-shirt sticking to his damp body. Frank had slipped on his boxers, but couldn't be bother to do anymore, so Gerard ended up helping Frank get dressed. He then picked Frank up and carried him into the living room, before laying him on the couch. "I'll make you tomato soup and grilled cheese, how does that sound?" Gerard offered.
"That sounds really, really good. Thank you," Frank replied, smiling slightly. Gerard nodded and smiled back, before making his way into the kitchen to make some food for Frank, who was watching a talent show on TV.
Even though he didn't show it, Gerard really did love Frank.
Frank just needed to realize that.
