Chapter 31 Broken Elevator
Devon's POV
It was all a dream... And when I open my eyes I'll be staring at the stupid mural on Cine's side of the room. 1... 2... 3... I open my eyes and see myself. I stare at my reflection in a confused daze, then it hits me; I'm stuck in this stupid elevator. I groan.
"Are you okay?"
I look over and see Neco's worried expression. I nod.
I close my eyes once more, giving reality another chance to agree with me. Now I'm going to open my in 1... 2... 3... One of my eyelids slowly open, but close just as fast. 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9...
"Devon please open your eyes, I think we should take this opportunity to talk about the issue at hand" Neco persuaded.
134... 135... 136...
"DON'T IGNORE ME!" Neco raised his voice to full authority. I sighed, yet reluctantly opened my eyes. "There's nothing to talk about, I like you, you don't feel the same way. I have to accept that." Neco's eyes pierced mine from across the elevator, the small space between us seeming to shrink. "I never said I didn't like you" he commented. The air caught in my throat, my breathing stilled. "What?" I blanched. "It's not as simple as liking you. Your still just a kid, just graduating from high school in a few days, and barely legal. It's a fleeting crush, you'll find someone else eventually, when your older and ready to settle down" he explained.
After recovering from the shock, I stood up and took two long strides to the other side of the elevator where he was leaning with his arms crossed in front of him. In one quick motion I jumped up on my tippy toes, my lips crashing against his in a messy first kiss. I gripped the back of his neck to steady myself. His hands curled around my waist, lifting me off the floor. Before long I found my legs wrapped around him and our teeth clinking as our tongues tangled together like two snakes in the process of making love.
Neco flipped us around, my back slamming against the elevator door as he attacked my neck. I mewled, clutching the back of his shirt as he nipped at my sweet spot. My body was a burning mass of tingles, his body moulded perfectly to mine. It felt so right. "The elevator should be operational soon" the lady's voice broke through the intercom. Our eyes met as we caught our breath, breathing erratically in sync. "We can't" he said breathlessly, trying to convince me and himself. I gave him one last peck on the lips "we can."
The whole way home my lips tingled with the memory of the broken elevator, and the secret we shared in there.
He's mine. He may not know it yet, but he's mine.
