Lost Ones

Zinnia's POV

"Okay, so the Knight clan is dangerous?" I asked Layla. She nodded her head. "How the fuck are we supposed to compete with them?"
     "We will do nothing. Mason Knight is really dangerous, Zinny. Especially if Errick is here and Brittany is his cousin." She took a sip of her coffee. We were in the Havardr clan house. "We just need to watch our back. I already let the clan know what to look out for. So everyone needs to be careful."
     "I already told my clan this." I just remembered what Errick told me. "Layla, what are second chance mates?"
     "Well, second chance mates are mates that come the story of the Lost One." Layla explained.
     "What does that mean?"
     "When the Lost One lost her mate, she ended up dying and being crystallized. Only the people that saw her and carried her back got special powers. They are called the Original Three. The Havardr, Edwards and Knight clans are the ones who were chosen by her to do magick. The others were taught by them." She looked thoughtful. "She thought that we all needed a second chance if something happened. She wanted to make sure that we are okay. That's what second chance mates are. Why do you ask?"
     "Errick called you his second chance mate. What will happen between you and Kade? Also, Errick said mine will be in tomorrow."
     "Nothing will happen. If they try to force us, then we can take their magick and return it to nature." She got up to put her cup in the sink. "I'm happy with Kade. Even if he is always busy. I can't help but be jealous of you and Xander."
     "Why are you jealous of us?" I was awfully curious.
     "Xander always makes time for you. No matter what he is doing, he'll cancel anything to spend it with you. I just want my mate to do that with me." Lay walked away after that.  She really deserves better.
     I decided to call Xander to see what he is up to. I mean, it's the weekend.
"Hi babe. Did you need anything?" Xander said as he answered the phone.
     "Hi wolfy. No, I just want to know what you are doing. I'm quite bored."
     "Don't call me that and I'm hanging out with Kade."
     "Well, do you want to do something? I know Lay would like to get out of the house and we can meet up somewhere." I hope he would say yes.
"Kade just wants us guys to hangout, love. I'm sorry. We will do something soon though. Bye babe."
     "Bye." I hung up on him. I can't believe he didn't want to go out with me.
     "What's the matter, Zinny?" Lay asked as she walked back in with the Book. That's the name of the book because when we say it, we don't want non-witches to know what we are talking about.
     I sighed. "Xander blew me off to hang out with Kade." Lay got a smile on her face. "What are you thinking Layla?"
     "Where is Kade and Xander going to be today?" Lay asked the Book.
They are going to be at the lake. They are with some of the pack. Errick Draven and Mason Knight are also there.
     "Guess whose going to the lake?" She smiled at me.
     "Are we going together or with the clans?"
     "The clans. We needed to be closer to nature anyways. Plus, we said we were going today anyways."

     When we got to the lake, everyone was happy. All the kids started running and playing, the adults went to lay down and relax and us teenagers were laughing and talking.
     "Lay, Zinny, I'm here!" James yelled at us. James is apart of my clan. We felt something move in the woods. Both of the clans got into a defensive stance. The kids were surrounded by the older people. Wolves stepped out of the tree line and we immediately relaxed. They went back in to change into their human forms.
     "Babe, I thought I told you I was hanging out with Kade." Xander told me.
     "Excuse me. Our clans already planned to come here today. You never told me where you going." I scoffed at him. "I didn't come here for you anyways. I came for my clan."
    Lay didn't look at Kade and he was to busy staring at her. Brittany was pissed that she wasn't getting his attention.
     "Come on, hookers! Let's go have fun. We came here for a reason!" James yelled at us. Layla and I laughed and went to go play.

Layla's POV

     Kade just kept on staring at me. So did Errick. They finally looked at Brittany.
     "Girl, you are in love." James spoke as he sat down next to me. This is why I said he is like my beta. "You love Kade."
     "Is it that obvious?"
     "Yes, girl, it is." He looked sad. "But, he still wants power. He is greedy in his own way. All of them are. I want you to be careful, okay?"
"When am I not careful?" He laughed at that.
"Layla! Can you make the water levitate?" Tina, a ten year little girl asked.
"Please. Layla can't do what I can do. I can control water and fire. She can only control ice." Brittany said.
"You really are stupid, aren't you?" She gasped at me and started to say something. "Ice is water. It's a frozen state of liquid."
Zinny came over to me and we made a dragon out of fire, then turned it to rocks, then air and lastly, water. Errick and Mason smiled at us. Weirdos.
"See, if you can't do that, then you are a true witch." The clans roared behind us. You could see dragons made of fire, air, earth and water behind us and they all formed into one dragon.
"No one messes with our clan. Now if you can excuse us, we are enjoying the day with the clans." I told them.
