A young girl, constantly lonely because of her own social phobias, finds shelter under Yagami Light. Strange things begin to happen but trouble always seemed to follow her. Light promises to always protect her but soon, she is doing the protecting.
I fell into a puddle as the high schooler dragged me into a deserted alleyway. It was a second alley way connected to the first but it was not connected to a road. I struggled hard and spat out, "Let me go!" He smirked and said, "Okay." He dropped me suddenly and I fell on my butt hard. My skirt teared a little and I scrambled up against the cold wall. I turned to run but more of the delinquents appeared blocking my escape route.
"Please, I don't want trouble." I cried out to them but the red haired boy said, "We aren't here to trouble you. Just help us." My eyes widened and I yelled out for help. Nobody can hear me! He grabbed my mouth and He pushed me against the cold concrete. My head spun and I saw 2 of everything for just a second. He pulled out a knife and pointed at my throat. It lightly touched my neck and I froze. "Don't move or it will only hurt you more." Silent tears rolled down my face and he smiled again. He is so creepy!
He brought the knife and it tore though my clothes. I was basically topless besides my bra and I watched his a rough hand came and groped me. I bit my lip and felt blood trickle down. The back of my head was also bleeding a little but I barely noticed as another hand went down to my skirt. "A-Ah!" I scream whispered and he quickly brought the knife up to my face again. "You don't want to get yourself killed do you?" I shook my head and a buddy of his walked over to my attacker. "Hey, Snapper. Don't you think you that taking it too far?"
Snapper laughed saying, "Too far, we aren't even far enough! You can have her after I'm done with her." My body trembled and I punched the guy square in the jaw when his grip loosened. He dropped the knife and I reached out for it. I grabbed it's hilt as a fist came crashing down on my stomach. "Erm!" I coughed but I had the knife in my hand. I slashed across his face and I felt his skin tear. I got a good cut from his cheek to the other side of his nose. He fell off of me and I jumped away.
The other boys were surprised, some held their hands up but 1 rather large guy charged me but a smaller guy grabbed me from behind. I quickly turned the knife in my hand and stabbed him in the chest. He let go of me like I was a hot coal and the bigger guy swung a fist at me. I dodged and slashed upwards at his double chin. I sliced deep enough and hit his jugular. Blood was everywhere and most of the boys have scattered. I felt someone grope me from behind and I let out a terrified scream and I threw my head back. I felt his nose crack against my scull and he let go of me and turned quickly and threw the knife. It hit him in the stomach and he fell back on the ground. He screamed outloud once he saw the knife deep in his chest and I heard sirens.
Soon, the alley way was filled with red and blue lights. I fell onto the ground and I closed my eyes. Tears filled my eyes and I felt someone pick me up. Am I always this unlucky? "Hanako! Are you okay?! What happened?" I heard Mr. Yagami rough voice as my vision swayed in and out. "....Light..." I mumbled to him and soon cops were swamping the scene.

My eyes fluttered open and I saw Light sleeping on a chair. Mr. Yagami was also there too. He just stared at me and I smiled saying, "Mr. Yagami, you found me...." He nodded but didn't look happy, in fact he looked stressed. "Yes, we managed to trace the call to that specific phone both because you never hung up." I didn't worry about the fact he looked unhappy, "I'm so happy, they almost.....did things to me...." I mumbled sleepily. Light woke up quickly, as if someone shook him awake and he was about to say something when his father silenced him.
"Hanako, we need you to identify the boys who attacked you. Can you do that for me?" I nodded slowly and he handed me a school year book. I flipped though and circled the ones who attacked me. Every single one of them. I remembered each of there faces. I have a great memory. "That's all." I said closing the book lightly. I didn't get far into the book. "Are you sure, you didn't even go though the whole book." I nodded saying, "I remember each of their faces."
"...!" He thought for a moment surprised and said, "You identified each and every single boy that turned themselves in or was caught....Did you know them?" He asked me and I shook my head, "I have no idea who they are, they just followed me around until they attacked me..." I whispered looking at my hands. They trembled as a I remembered what happened to me. "Hanako, do you know you killed 2 of them."
I threw my head up from my hands and whispered, "What? I? I killed? I killed two people...!" My voice shook in the shock and I felt my eyes tear up, "...I murdered two people...!" I stared into Mr. Yagami face and said, "You are lying! I couldn't have killed 2 people!" He shook his head in disbelief and I stared at his face as he asked, "How did you know where to stab them? Each wound was perfect placed as to be fatal but they would die a slow death."
I wasn't listening. My hands covered my face and I wept saying, "I took two souls from this earth, they are never coming back..." Someone touched my shoulder and I flinched back, "Hanako! We need to know how to use a blade like tha-" Mr. Yagami started but Light grabbed his father and shook him saying, "Father! Stop it! Look what you have done, you are traumatizing her. She can't be who you think she is. She couldn't even bare to kill the spider in the bathroom. How could she be the one! Just leave us alone..." Light's father stared at him and said, "Alright, I trust you Light." He stood up and left the hospital room.
Light looked over at me and I asked between chocked sobs, "Did I really...?" He nodded and I put my hands to my mouth to muffle a scream. "I didn't mean to! I was so scared, Light they were going to hurt me and rape me...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I was so scared without you." I cried and Light hugged me and I hugged him back. His warm embrace calmed me down a little and I stopped talking. I just sniffed and my breath hitched a couple of times while I cried silently. He stroked my hair and whispered soothingly, "It's okay, you are safe now. I won't leave you I swear." My fists tightened around him and I asked, "Light, am I a murderer?"

"No, you just defended yourself." He said calmly and I closed my eyes. "Hey, visiting hours are over you two." A lady's voice called in and I broke the hug saying, "I'm not leaving today? Why? I feel fine." The nurse shook her head and said, "You may have passed out due to shock but you still have a cut on the back of your head that needs to be monitored for at least 1 night, now please Yagami needs to leave."
"I guess I have to go Hanako, I'll come back as soon as possible." Light said standing up to leave. "NO. You can't leave me. Don't leave me alone again. Light please...!" I started to cry again and I reached out for him but all he did was kiss my forehead and leave me.
This isn't the first time Hanako killed someone, she calls herself unlucky. Unlike most people, she believes that Shinigami might exist, and other supernatural powers.
