Lucky One (Baekyeon)

Admiration

-a month earlier-

It was summer vacation and Baekhyun was just lying in bed. He has nothing else to do, his summer was now never like the usual; he would be busy doing his summer homework, going home late afternoon after spending time at the library; or visiting his favorite cafe where he could play the piano cozily. 

"A lot of things happened, i hope it gets better." he mumbled as he close his eyes.

Remembering the past makes him clench his fist but he cannot let himself break down, not now or everything he did will be put to waste.

Ive been really unproductive these days, i guess a little exercise would help. He thought.

Baekhyun was at peace looking at the Han river after a round of biking. Summer heat was melting him but he cant stop admiring the calm river. Enjoying the little breeze on his cheeks, he felt something cold on his hands.

"You shouldn't be here at this high temperature the sun will toast you, here I've got extra" she smiled warmly as she handed the grape flavored popsicle and left. Baekhyun just smiled stupidly looking at the popsicle. He never knew that people around this area  were kind. He might have been used to his old community that people won't want to be near him after the incident. Its a shame he couldn't send her gratitude towards the girl.

 I hope i get to see her again.

New school, new beginning. Baekhyun was looking forward to this day, it's first day of senior high school. Even though he just transferred into a new school he was not nervous because he get to see his old friends and besides that couldn't be nervous but yet excited, he got the privilege to speak in front of the whole school for the opening ceremony since he got the top score during the entrance exam.

"And i welcome you all to senior high" Baekhyun said the last part of his speech. He smiled proudly at the positive response of the students, he could clearly hear the clapping and words of admiration towards him. He was without a doubt an outstanding student with good looks and he came from a well-known generation too.

As he scanned the crowd for the last time, he spotted a familiar face, he can still remember that beautiful face and there he knew it was the girl he met before. Even though the girl was looking at him blankly (or maybe a little angry) he cant help but adore her goddess like face.

"Hey Baek, it never crossed my mind that you will be the top scorer this year, i was expecting it to be Kim Taeyeon" Chanyeol said. They are now walking towards their classroom.

"Ive always been really intelligent since grade school, its just that Im always with you that the teacher thought I was retarded just like you! Baekhyun retorted.

"A year before it was Kim minseok, last year it was Kim junmyeon. well Kim Jongdae, i guess we Kim's are intelligent" Chen said but it made the group laugh even more.

"Kim Jongdae you are definitely not one of those intelligent Kims, you should wake up now because you are obviously dreaming." Chanyeol jokes which made the whole group laugh.

"Too bad chen, I, Byun Baekhyun has stolen the 1st place."

"All right, all right! you win, we must head back to the classroom now, its about time."

Weeks past and yet Baekhyun cant get enough of Taeyeon's qualities, she's intelligent and beautiful. He can't help but watch her secretly during class even though he sit 4 seats in front of her. He was also sure that Taeyeon is in the library every after class so even before his friends can invite him to play he would rush out to go to the library.

"I heard he's good." Baekhyun commented.

Taeyeon was startled as she heard Baekhyuns voice from behind. She is currently at the library looking at a korean language book. 

"Ahh yes, I've heard about him too." she smiled at him, even though she's quite anxious on his presence she is still grateful that someone is talking to her without any hidden intentions or wanted to court her.

Am I actually grateful to this guy? no, no, no, i have my resolve and i will stick to that.

"I ah I should head first, see you tomorrow Baekhyun-ssi." Taeyeon said as she bowed 90 to him

"You dont have to bow down, and if it isnit a bother just call me Baekhyun." He said, he was actually shy on asking her to call him that but it would make them closer since Taeyeon has this characteristics that is very respectful.

"Oh, yeah Baekhyun-ah. So I will go now, bye."

"Actually can we-- ahh yes bye. He couldn't even finish what he was saying since Taeyeon was walking fast.

Lets get closer Taeyeon-ah. Baekhyun smiled to himself.
