Lexi started at herself in the mirror, smoothing her dress. She would have to go shopping soon, as none of her current dresses were exactly business appropriate. Glancing at the clock, she saw it was 8:25. Tristan would be here any moment to pick her up. She gave one last glance at herself in the mirror and walked downstairs to wait outside for him. The air was cool and crisp, a beautiful autumn morning.

A short honk alerted her that Tristan was pulling up to the curb. Lexi walked over, smiling and opened the passenger door and got down into the car. Settling herself, she looked over to see Tristan's gorgeous smile. It melted her heart.

"Good morning Miss Lexi," he said, handing her a Starbucks cup.

"Thank you, Tristan and good morning to you too," she said gratefully taking the cup with a smile of her own.

They rode in silence deeper into the city, zipping between cars and driving by the skyscrapers. Taking a quick left, Tristan drove down into a garage underneath a tall building. The garage guard waved and let him right through. They took a left and parked in a large spot that was labeled with Tristan's name. Tristan got out and walked to open Lexi's door for her.

"Thank you," she smiled.

"You are most welcome," he said as they walked towards an elevator. "Now, when I called my HR manager, he said we had a spot open in the mailroom right away. I know it's not the most luxurious job in the world, but I figured it was something you could start with and apply for other jobs later."

"I'll take whatever I can get. Thank you again Tristan."

They entered the elevator and rode to the second floor. This is your stop. Take a right here and go all the way down the hall. The mailroom is the last door on the left. Ask for Mary. She's wonderful and will help you. My office is on the fifth floor if you need anything." Tristan smiled at Lexi as she turned to leave.

"Thank you. See you later."

Lexi followed Tristan's instructions and found the large brown door labeled 'Mailroom.' She knocked hesitantly and opened the door. A tall man with brown hair and glasses looked towards her. He scanned her up and down and said in a bored tone, "Can I help you with something miss?"

""Yes, Hi, I'm looking for Mary."

A short woman with greying hair popped her head up. She smiled brightly and walked towards Lexi. "Oh! You must be Alexandria!! I'm Mary. Welcome! It's so nice to meet you and we're so happy to have you here."

Lexi smiled warmly at her. "Lexi, please. And thank you. I'm so grateful to be here."

"Let me show you around honey. That there is Charlie," she said, pointing to the tall man with the glasses. Mary leaned closer to whisper to Lexi. "Don't mind him, he's always grumpy," she said and Lexi had to contain a giggle. "Unfortunately Robert is sick today, so you won't get to meet him until he gets back."

Mary showed Lexi around the mailroom, showing her where the incoming mail arrives at 2:45 every afternoon and where outgoing mail should be placed to ensure its delivery. She showed her a list of what company likes which shipping company, it being the US mail, FedEx, or UPS. She then gave Lexi a tour of the building while they collected the mail and packages that were to be sent out that day. They passed by Tristan's office but he was in a meeting.

The day went quickly and Lexi soon found herself in Tristan's car driving home. He dropped her off, leaving a sweet kiss on her cheek. She stood on the curb watching him go, her hand resting on her tingling cheek.
