"Long time no see." Jay said.

I ignore her and continue to copy the notes from off the board. In order to graduate, I had to get my grades up so that's what I'm doing. I didn't plan on talking to anybody except my girlfriend and maybe Moriah.

"How's Nala's cute ass?" she asked.

I put my pencil down and sat back, patiently waiting for the teacher to change the slide.

"I heard she fucked Alex. You shouldn't of cuffed that hoe. It's only a matter of time before I fuck her too." she said.

I don't know why people fuck with me all the time, knowing my attitude is fucking horrible. Since I'm in a good mood today imma let this slide.

I reach in my pocket for my earphones and plug them into my phone.

I noticed the teacher changed the slide, so I began to write again. I couldn't ear anything going on around me, just the way I like it.

I felt someone tap my shoulder, so I turned around and looked at Jeremy, the nigga that sits behind me. He pointed to the front of the classroom. I took my earphones out and looked at the teacher.

"It's been a while since you've been here. Is everything okay?" he asked, sounding concerned.

I nodded, "Everything's coo."

He smiled small, but had a sympathetic look in his eyes. The bell rang, and everybody got up to leave. I closed my notebook and put it in my Nike bookbag before standing up. Jay brushed past me, mumbling all types of cuss words. I rolled my eyes and put my bookbag on.

"Brooks, can I talk to you for a second?" He asked.

I nodded and took a seat, waiting for him to speak.

He slid me a piece of paper. I took it from him. It was my test results, telling me I passed. I smiled and looked at him to see he was smiling too. He extended his hand and I gladly shook it.

His facial expression got serious. I watched as he sat next to me.

"Your mother recently called, asking about you. You don't live at home anymore?" he asked.

"Nah. I moved out." I said.

"You're still a minor. So you have to go home." he said.

"I'm not going home." I said.

He sighed, "Jordan, you have to. She's about to get the cops involved and I don't want that for you." he said.

I rolled my eyes, knowing I had no choice but to go home or she would probably snitch and tell them what I do.

"Fine." I mumble.

"Thank you." he said.

I stood up and headed for the door but stopped once he said, "Congratulations Jordan. Not many people passed that test, but you did. You're very smart." he smiled.

I stared at him for a little while before leaving. I was coo before he told me that shit, now I'm heated.

I walked to my locker to see Nala leaning against it. When she saw me she moved from in front of my locker.

"What's wrong?" she asked while searching my eyes.

"Nothing"

I broke eye contact with her and focused on opening my locker up. When I did that, I put everything inside of it before unzipping my bookbag and getting my pistol. I tucked it in the front of my jeans before closing my locker shut and adjusting my belt.
